Anyone for cricket?
Point 5 has always been my arguement, thanks for finally realizing that. And stop mentioning 4 corners its getting dull B) But you didn't mention the Selectors...was that an oversight??

Anyone for cricket?
Rhino we are playing the old dart on home soil to win back the ashes, and tickets are not selling. The Australian public is not happy ok. I will say it if you won't. What other circumstances might be in the way..Christmas??? Fair go buddy, you can bag me pretty hard, but i won't take that one!!! B)
-
Anyone for cricket?
You are kidding there Rhino for sure, a week out from an ashes series and still loads of unsold tickets around australia. What else is it going to be apart from a protest?? Do tell....
-
Anyone for cricket?
Yeah well it better translate to Baggy Green runs or there will be serious nashing of teeth around the country!!!! Test level is so different. Good on him for doing it, but how convincing is it?

Anyone for cricket?
Just Brilliant. Hussey makes 118 and saves his job for the summer!!!! unbelievable B) B)

Anyone for cricket?
HaHaHa! That was a good read, the Cricket Australia should seriously consider making you a selector-You fit the criteria beautifully RR Poor Ticket sales around australia at present have both CH 9 and Cricket Australia very worried, so my attitude is not alone. what you call whingiing i call my opinion? But do carry on....after a nice walk home from work along the beach its good to return fire!!! B)

Anyone for cricket?
Yes i have, I have said Hussey is passed it & Hauritz has never had it, both should be out of the team. RR i am not paid a sizeable wage to select a cricket side. They are. But i am expected to shell out hard earned to go and watch this rabble. I am just airing my feelings as this is a discussion board & the topic here is cricket.

Don't Worry Cricket Australia are just as much to blame as the selectors-the whole last 12 months have almost been a waste of time leading up to this series, we are no further down the track than we were last year against the Paki's. Cricket Australia employ the selectors so of course they are part of this fiasco...I thought that was obvious.

Anyone for cricket?
Like i said, we shall see in time, but for the selectors to not have named a side one week out from an ashes series to me is wrong. Of course you may disagree, it is your right. But a lot of this work should have been done last summer against Pakistan, it wasn't because certain players were not retired, Hard decisions were not taken. So now those same decisions are even tougher-Shocking planning and foresight. If this happened in a football club it would be laughable. But because of the ACB and Indian contracts players are to highly paid, and thus understandably won't step down. i know you disagree, but then i disagree with many of your points as well. The last 12 months Australian cricket has gone backwards or at best struggled to tread water and a lot of that i put towards selection policies. Oh also sacking Merv & keeping Hilditch just sums it all up!!
-
Anyone for cricket?
Yes it does-it lacks a team ethic in both Bonding and Direction. Players are more interested in getting the Gold ACB contract than fighting for the Test spot.

Anyone for cricket?
We shall see won't we. Picking a 17 man squad for a home series is quite pathetic in my opinion.

Anyone for cricket?
For starters it was a minimum of 13 overs to be bowled in that match Rhino. I heard at least 3 different reports late last night, so unless 3 journalists were wrong... You keep bringing up 4 corners RR, glad you like the ABC, but please do not think that is the only source of information in regard to sub continent corruption that i have heard, as i mentioned here yesterday my father spent a lot of time in india so i have taken an interest in the craziness of india for a long time. With the 4 corners program i was more aghast at the Pakistan official who blatantly lied down the camera. i knew well of Bookmakers, four corners just showed that nobody really wants to fix it. That was news. If i wish to Bag Hilditch i will, the guy lives in an ivory tower-the fruits of which are now showing, but his interview the other morning was quite astounding.

Anyone for cricket?
You Guys are just too soft. These proffessional cricketers have a good life, and if they lose a series there is always another one next week. The Focus is now longevity and not winning. Did you hear Hilditch on the radio the other morning?? Spoke with almost disdain. The guy lives in another world...

Anyone for cricket?
Its going to be a long summer, but the aussie cricketers are all over paid, so sadly no one is going to really hurt. Should be Ponting's last series if he doesn't score well. I did say "should be" B)
-
Anyone for cricket?
Not with 13 Minimum overs to go. That is too early and conservative to pull the plug on a game. Nobody improves without taking even a small risk.
-
Anyone for cricket?
Fair Go Rhino..They had Minimum 13 overs to face-If the Team had the Balls they should have had a go at winning. Glad you were not ever a captain of any team i was on. I always play to win, and it would have helped the Paki's case to get more legitimate pay packets if they had pulled off a classic win. You can't always hide inside the womb and take the easy option.
-
Anyone for cricket?
Who said Test Cricket was ever easy. Stop making excuses for the walk. The Paki's were on the Home straight after doing a lot of hard work. They should have had a crack at winning, otherwise do not bother playing at all.
-
Anyone for cricket?
NO NO NO that is wrong. If the Paki's had had a crack at winning that game last night, they would have rebuilt a lot of respect. nobody would have said anything about "tossing a game" at all, if they had got even close to 400. The had Wickets in hand and 13 overs Minimum to bowl. Should have gone for the win. Naive indeed.
-
Anyone for cricket?
They should have gone for the win....They had enough overs. Imagine what it would have done for cricket if they had pulled it off-as is said in the report. 2 sixes were hit before they walked. So the pitch could not have been that bad. Poor Form IMO

Anyone for cricket?
Pakistan's effort yesterday against South Africa...Kind of sums it all up for international cricket really doesn't it. "Let's not go for the runs in case we get Bowled out & then everybody will think we were on the take-Lets just walk off with 13 overs to go & take the draw" Not worth playing the game with that attitude me thinks.... B)

Anyone for cricket?
What???? That is appalling, Doherty was the bright spark of wednesday's game. Who you know. Time to drop Hilditch IMO. The Australian Public is not stupid, and they can smell double standards.
-
Anyone for cricket?
The Bowling after you left home was atrocious. Not one yorker was bowled. It was a joke. I don't think all is happy in the australian side. Mitchell Johnson bowling pies with a smile on his face, it is not right. The Sri Lankan supporters outnumbered us at the MCG!!!! But then who knew it was on until i turned the TV on. Meanwhile Merv is sacked, while the faceless Hilditch keeps his part time job. Dark Times indeed.

Anyone for cricket?
Long Summer me thinks. We have no captains. Clarke is a good bloke, not a captain.
-
Anyone for cricket?
Sure, but it can still get a lot worse-and i think it will. And that is just plain sad & irresponsible when prime examples were shown via that videotape evidence, and ICC representatives are able to just Fob it all off, while looking straight down the Lens of the Camera!! Astounding.

Anyone for cricket?
Doesn't look good for the Future does it, 4 Corners don't muck about like a Tabloid Current Affairs story would. Cricket is going to be in serious trouble within the next decade.
