  1. HaHa The indians would have gone quiet last night!!!
  2. To be sure, To be sure...Kevin O'brien you Absolute Legend!!! What a superb day....for the Poms!
  3. Both side would have a bad case of "What If's" TU. The game may cost both teams dearly down the track-but almost THE perfect 50 over game-Had it all. I hope that the 50 over game survives-If both teams are equal then it is a great form of cricket.
  4. A classic 50 over match...had everything. England were cruising until spin absolutely halted their run rate mid innings. In the last 2-3 overs England got the momentum back.
  5. Another Sub Continent Road by the sounds of it, who would be a bowler...Still it's not over yet!!
  6. Golden Line there HT..! Cracked me up at work.. GO THE DUTCH...I have travelled through Amsterdam & survived-They know how to party, and hopefully beat English cricketers!
  7. Excellent we badly need an upset or else these first 3 weeks are really going to Drag....keep us posted HT.
  8. HaHaHaHa! Ya cheeky Bugger-You owe me a beer or two for that remark!!!
  9. There is no parking at the Wick. its Rubbish, i live 10 minutes away from there. The highway means the traffic doesn't stop.
  10. ok fine, so let's sell it and find a better alternative. No problem at all But i seriously believe the club needs a social club called the MFC social club so that we can attend during the week. That's my point. It doesn't have to be the Bentleigh Club, but we do need somewhere that is advertised as the MFC social club.
  11. Call it the MELBOURNE FOOTBALL SOCIAL CLUB & advertise events & functions-People will go. At present the name Bentliegh club just does not cut it. We need somewhere to go as a club, if it is not the Bentleigh Club, sell it-But the place does have potential At present it is vastly under used IMO
  12. Wow, wish i had seen that-Don't have Foxtel at present.!
  13. Hilfy is really struggling now isn't he...that last ashes series in England he was our strike bowler. Sad when it happens..
  14. Quite possibly, but how far can you trust Dodgy Hamstrings in the middle of a World Cup, it's too risky at his age.
  15. Tait can bowl, no question, it's just his body will not allow him. Krejza may have no form in Australia so to speak, but he has turned it on in India, even if it was only one. 8 wickets is 8 wickets, so i am glad he is going over there. Tait is a game by game proposition.
  16. Krejza is a major gamble, but a good one. He has got nothing to lose, so i hope he plays his best cricket ever next month. Who knows what the indian decks will be like??? That would be a science in itself, preparing Indian pitches! Still think Brett Lee will be a major key to how far we progress. Will his old body hang together? Hussey's Hamstring(s) were never going to be ready for the world cup, that was major surgery that needs time to heal, similiar to Junior Mac. No point in breaking down during the first or second game...
  17. Krejza on Indian decks is well worth a gamble...He bowled a few nice ones in Perth. (Even Tong Grieg praised him!!) Practise games are over, now we will know how hard the Poms were trying. (i take nothing away from the Australians, but you could tell the Poms wanted to go home after the Ashes)-that was the job. Bring on the WC.
  18. Murali i hear is to become a bowling coach in Australia!!! WTF.
  19. I agree, but i will not be walked over, for having an opinion.........The Results of the World Cup will be fascinating.
  20. Why is a profesional Cricketer any different to a high end business position, as far as performance goes?? I do not have a fixation on $$$, it is just the reality. If somebody in any business is on top coin then they have to perform-simple. That includes M Hussey, Ponting & Clarke. I fully understand how harsh cricket can be to compared other sports, but that is why these guys are paid Top Coin. Saying that Michael Clarke should not play Club Cricket is a dumb idea, is your opinion-it doesn't make it a dumb idea. M Clarke may have thought for him it was the best idea. Whenever a person is stale of ideas, it is always best to do something radically different to get the adrenalin pumping again. You Rhino just do not wish to agree with my opinions as you are far more conservative (which is your right, & sometimes i do agree with what you say) but certainly not always. Personally i would have backed Clarke on saturday, sure he may have gone out cheaply-but that's the risk. He also might have made 85-90 come sunday if he had had that club hit out....we shall never know.
  21. I would give M Clarke a 6.5/7 out of 10 yesterday He really wanted to succeed you could tell, And contrary to what many say on here i do not wish him to fail as either a Batsmen or Captain, He is not my first choice for the ODI side or as it's captain, as i think he is a Test Player. But he has been given the job, and let's not forget he has accepted that job, probably signed a new Contract. So he must find form before the world cup. Yesterday was a great start, but the shot he went out on was a real Barry Crocker, but he did top score, and there are 2 more games to go. There are only 2 tournaments worth winning. The Ashes & The World Cup, If Clarke has accepted the Captaincy then he has got to bat well up the order for a good portion of 50 overs RR talks of Voodoo Dolls & Axes, not me-But it is time for Clarke to stand up, he is getting top $$$$ Brett Lee is a major key to any world cup success, if his old body keeps together we could win games. Oh and BTW interesting that M Clarke himself requested to play CLUB CRICKET last saturday but was turned down by those weak selectors, who would have never slept again if he had failed!!!! It was a great idea M Clarke, and i give you respect. Sometimes you gotta think outside the Square. If Clarke was not Captain right now, it is a tough one, but it would have to be Watson or Cam White.
  22. What are you talking about??? Michael Clarke has got 3 games to go before the World Cup to find some form...Form that has alluded him for months ok. That is the situation. I don't Think he should be Captain or picked in the one day side-But the reality is that he is in the side. So i want him to earn his spot, just like the rest of the team So he better find that Form Quick. This is the World Cup, something that should have been building since 2007. I don't think Clarke is a natural one day Player. The Selectors do, so they better be right. Like i said 3 games to find Form. I am not putting the Axe into anyone, Clarke is very well paid, so it's time to perform...3-2-1.
  23. Hilditch will only leave kicking and screaming, that's obvious. 3 Ashes losses and he still says "The Selectors have done a fine job"....It is entertaining though, i will give it that. B)
  24. Top level Cricket aint doing Clarke any good at the moment....sorry but i have been watching these one dayers. He needs to go back to basics right now.
  25. Like RR you are to literal...its 3 games to find some form. The choice they have made had better be right one, that's all i hope. Right now Clarke looks a Mess with a bat in his hand.
