  1. 6 - Wheatley. Prominent and tidy.

    5 - McDonald. Skippers performance.

4 - Morton. Really came of age.

3 - Green. Clean, tough and lead from the front.

2 - Bruce. Found the ball and used it well.

    1 - Buckley - His important underrated.

Honourable mensions to Nathan Jones, Brad Miller & Clint Bartram.

Also very happy to see our most senior players stood up today.

  2. I would absoloutly love to have Daniel Kerr at Melbourne Football Club.

He is the type of player we have been lacking for years. Blistering pace and alot of footy smarts. Leadership at times. Hes still young enough too.

Just couldnt see us getting him though. We havent got anything West Coast want and we would be reluctant to give up any of our top 20 picks.

Should Kerr not re-sign and Eagles want at least something for him, I think our 2nd, 4th and 6th picks would do us.

  3. I question alot of things about Melbournes current playing list, but one of them isnt toughness.

I think we have a range of tough players. McDonald, Moloney, Whelan and Miller just examples. Not the toughest going around but I still think good enough to shake us of the 'weak' tag.

TJ, as good as he was, was soft & weak. He's gone.

  4. This bloke must be a relation to Bode. You keep calling for his return and even said in another thread that he was great on the weekend after playing less than a half and being pretty ordinary in the time. What's your agenda?

Honest mistake regarding Bode at Sandy.

Im no relation, I just think his done OK when in the firsts and alot of his criticism here is uncalled for. He's putting in good efforts for Sandy too. What more could we ask for before re-selecting him?

  5. I'm extremely dissapointed for Meesen.

He has the ability to be able to dominate matches. A ruckman with equal or better athletic capabilities as a midfielder. If he can produce, we'll have something special on our hands but surely his chances are running out.

  6. You for real?

He spent the entire second half (except for the first 2 minutes) on the bench. And plenty of time on the pine in the first half due to a concussion. Were you actually there or your is job just to pump him up despite the truth?

Perhaps I have mistaken Bode for someone else, but it sure looked like him!

  7. I went today with my soul intention to watch Jack Grimes in action.

Started on the bench but then came on late in the first quater. Playing a sweeping half back flank role. He got a few disposals in the second quater and with the ball in hand, looked quite polished. He adapted well to senior footy and looked quite comfortable out there. If I could pick a weakness it was probably his lack of pace when tracking his opponent to the ball but that isnt a major problem in my opinion. There are a few little things to work on with Jack like there is all youngsters but I love his ability to back himself and his classy skills by foot.

Yze played well, kicking 2 and working very hard (For once). Petterd got alot of the ball and used it well. Bode played well across half back, played a link up role and for most of the day his skills were great coming out of the backline.
