Simon Goodwin and the coaching staff, if you read this just know that a lot of us think you are making the right decision on Watts. Not everyone is slitting their wrists over an extremely average player leaving.

    Keep up the great work!

    "extremely average" - love it.

Guys, I'm begging you, if you have a rumor about a player, please put it in its own thread.  Some of us are busy & have to read thru pages & pages of opinions & arguments to find one or two rumors. It's driving me crazy. Pleeeeez. You can still present your views in seperate threads.

Often when a player is out of form, you read the coaches saying they just need to "work on the basics", and form will return.

"The basics" are pressure acts, tackling, shepherding, and small things like knock on's etc.

The thing that disappoints me about his return is not his lack of touch, but a continuation of his previous unwillingness to chase and tackle if he fails to take a mark. He is a bystander more often than not, in a full ground modern press that requires every player doing their bit.

His form 2 games back doesn't bother me.

    His defensive effort does.

I was to scared to post what you just said.  Good on you. I'm time and again sick in my stomach with his non-2nd effort.  I wonder what his fellow team members must be thinking.  I'd keep him more toward the centre because he works harder and is effective there.  I'd love to put him on an good opposing forward so he learns what they do.  He might be a champion one day and I know it's been an awful time for him but if you made a list of the good marking and goal kicking forwards, he'd be around 30th.

  4. I used to have many problems with our recruitment performance but I really can't complain about the last few years - and that goes beyond recruitment.  I don't look too much at the line-up announcements and ins & outs because I feel more than in a long time that they know what they are doing.  Last match was a great example.

  5. That Carlton supporter was having a lot of trouble keeping the smile off his face after getting a reaction. He'll be dining out on this for years.  MFC should ask Carlton to discipline him but they won't because, in case no one has noticed, Carlton & their supporters are incredible AH's.

Oh, I did love Lewis, of all people, kicking the last goal after the siren. If only it was the winning goal.

LOL. Are the other posts not pointless?

We're all just footy desperates wanting to be heard. Yeh, me too.

  7. Why don't they just create 5 more teams, give them lots more money and picks, and we play each team once.

OR each team plays each other once and then we have a 9 week finals system

OR a 34 week H&A season where we play each other twice

Really, there's still so much more money to be made out there.

What about the AFL sells passes to training. You can have a reserved seat - the club will bring a chair for you.

OR sells the rights to dress the unpires, eg McDonalds can dress an umpire as Ronald McDonald

OR sell club naming rights, eg The Collingwood McNuggets or the Collingwood Ajax Scum Lifter.

Hunt is a pest 'Lucifer', in the nicest of ways. He's so quick and willing to get back to spoil & or take the ball away.

If they hesitate or are not pin point with the pass he's on to it.

Will be a real weapon, even more so in season 2017.

We've got plenty defenders now. I'd love to see Hunt moved to the wing or forward flank.
