  1. "don't think" = wishful thinking and spin "we'd also ensure that the club got a reasonable return in exchange" - lol, now i know he's spinning (or hasn't spoken to dodoro)
  2. watts a matter you?
  3. i always wondered (pre social media days) ted, whether the addition of "wi" sound for a nick was meant to be spelt with a "y" or an "ie" there is also the other creative option of adding an "o", but in your case fidgey works better than fidgeo
  4. It's not their choice to trade or go to the gt, it would be solely hurley's choice to take the gt route. and if essendrug make unrealistic trade requests that might make him more likely once hurley (or any other of the remaining 5) have crossed that bridge and decide to leave, the whole risk/reward equation changes and the brinksmanship gets stepped up, but ultimately in favour (in this case) of the player
  5. must be in their dna, eh mandee? leopards, spots, lie-with, dogs.....etc
  6. so funny........so essendope
  7. maybe we could get saty to take "measurements", moonie?
  8. deeko, i can accept an incidental shirtfront (i.e. accidental, unavoidable, unintended or self-defence), but there is no place for the deliberate take-a-player-out shirtfront. not only is it a cheap and dangerous action (even if head not hit) but it is my understanding it has been illegal for a few years now everybody's opinion will no doubt change when we get the inevitable paraplegic shirtfront. meanwhile the afl go hot and cold on dangerous tackling. fcs even the nrl have banned what they call the "shoulder charge"
  9. with an omac here, here an amac and a tmac there.....ee-i-ee-i-o
  10. and he looks a lot more than 2cm taller. wonder if he has put on a height spurt this year which has slowed him from filling out. looks a good 6cm in pic
  11. bub i'm surprised at you. don't believe what you read and hear. trade whispers are all about bs, remember how much howe was reported as wanted/offered and frawley and many others. i take all the talk whether, money, which clubs, reasons for going etc with a grain of salt
  12. never did trust the traps, andrew..................we will find out soon enough anyway
  13. why don't the club additionally just email the details to all members at least reading the above link it is a lot to take in in a phone call, especially if you are suspicious of the callers bona fides (as i would be) would also save on commission fees just saying............
  14. there is only 2 choices for hogan. weidemann or pedo. one is the future, one is not. stiff for pedo this time but he's depth and will get another chance another time ** assumes hogan's knee is fully ok
  15. rubbish deeko. deliberately shirtfronting an unsuspecting ball player who isn't in possession of the ball is a dirty, dangerous act and has no part in our game today or in the past. there is nothing tough or brave about such a cowardly act. there are plenty of other brave physical acts that are rightly a great part of our game but this definitely wasn't one of them.
  16. sooooo now you are making it up. i never said he got hit on the temple. you need remedial classes in comprehension. what i was explaining is that (1) the % of force to the body versus the head is a rubbish argument and (2) that pure force alone is not the only cause of serious head/neck injuries. Any low force head impact can be serious if connected to the right place. Clarrie was very, very lucky he didn't sustain a serious injury and the mrp has been too lenient to what was a very dangerous and deliberate act
  17. lol - is that a new definition of impact? virtually all shirtfronts have most of the force to the body..... serious head and/or neck damage are not necessarily a factor of just force. the actual point of contact (e.g. temple), angle of impact and subsequent impact on head hitting the turf can all play a role in head and/or neck injury damage. the afl 2 years ago were much harsher on head contact but lately seem to have gone back to the bad old days. It will probably take a serious head injury before they wake up
  18. except in this case he did make head contact (imo) so it had to go to the mrp. the mrp agreed on the head contact too. they erred in dismissing it as low impact. it should have been medium impact with no apparent damage and rioli given the chance to accept 1 week. failure to do this has sent a bad (and inconsistent) message and precedent plus enhanced the perception that there are protected species in the afl
  19. most suburban grounds were sh*tholes i those days
  20. an intentional shoulder charge to the front of the body is not allowed. It is at least a free kick. A push (except in marking) to the chest is ok
  21. hurley obviously wants to come to melbourne judging by his growing a maximus gawn beard (the man bun will have to go though)
  22. correction, he's been gawnsome!
  23. since when did the afl feel the need to justify anything, and when they have tried to explain, when was it ever logical, consistent or transparent
  24. District 9 - complete with alien prawns and saffer accents. it's so bad it's a classic
