  1. You don't want Hibberd? Your trading away his pick.
  2. If Dogs beat GWS they will have both teams in GF.
  3. I am concerned that in the wet at North Port we could lose to Willy and maybe throw away a great chance at a VFL flag.
  4. He will be on trade table
  5. We are probably now in top 6 of Melb clubs as a destination club and success will improve that.
  6. It will involve players plus their picks which are not great.
  7. Let's be realistic with these three. Prestia received a godfather offer from Tigers, end of story. Marchbank has been dealing with SOS all year and they have a relationship. He is also going to a club with several former team mates, is guaranteed getting a game and will no doubt be on bigger bucks than with GWS. O'Meara has had 2 serious injuries. He damaged both Patellas badly and then a Patella tendon. He hasn't played a full game in 2 years. Only a few quarters in a lower competition. He is a massive risk to any club. 3 clubs pulled out after Medical testing. Few clubs could take the risk. The Bombers because they could get him for nothing. The Hawks because they have won 4 flags and are immune to criticism from fans or media. If he fires great if not they will say they tried. For them he could be high risk and high reward. If a bust, so what. They are also getting Tom Mitchell. We can not be criticised in any of these instances.
  8. Actually sickening commentary.
  9. If a player wanted to go home it would be as soon as he made that decision. I just don't see a player deciding he wants to go home, especially with a family crisis atm and saying I will just stay and go next year, when he could get it done now. Makes no sense to me. Therefore as I said before if he hasn't told us he wants to go home in the next week or so, then I believe he will stay and extend his contract at a time when he is less stressed.
  10. I am expecting at least one surprise, be that a trade, free agent or smoky draft pick.
  11. I see this a little differently to some others on here. To me if Jesse wants to go home it is now, not at the end of next year. Therefore he would have to inform us of his wish now so we can start talks on a trade. The fact that his manager says there is no hurry to his decision may just be to not make the family situation public and give them privacy at this very difficult time. I think the club is acting exactly as it should in giving him space and time to deal with a family crisis. I think he will stay and is just not wanting to discuss contract details at this time while he is obviously very emotional. Again I wish he and his family well over this difficult time.
  12. Said the same thing last year but don't want to play Bombers first up or first game in Melbourne. They will be so hyped up with their players back. Happy to play them later in the season. Demonlanders were laughing at me when I said we would lose to them in round 2, months earlier.
  13. If he wants to stay, he can actually take as long as he wants. If he wants to go home next year, he has to tell us in the next couple of weeks, so he can be traded in trade week. I am hopeful he will stay.
  14. No he is Development Head.
  15. Thanks. Not overly positive. Goodwin seems confident so hope he is right.
  16. So he is in breach of the interstate Transport of Synthetic Foliage Act of 2013.
  17. What, he broke customs and foliage laws.
  18. What did he say I can't open article.
  19. It is definitely Victoria. I recognise one of the leaves on a tree to the left of the players.
  20. It shows just how sensitive Eddie is over Buckley. All Peter Jackson said in an aside, was that " the succession across the road, may not have happened as well as it could have". Hardly a big sledge. What does Eddie do, gets personal of course and attacks the man, PJ. He goes back to the Sheedy days and blames PJ for Essendon being a basket case. Nice sledge of the Bombers there as well. He attacks us as being not much good and can't wait for QB. You can't help but wonder if Eddie is tired and emotional again, like he was when he racially vilified Goodes. Eddie didn't need to reply, as it was an innocuous comment and in fact correct and Eddie has said that in the past. Sometimes Eddie, you just need to shut up.
  21. If we could have beaten Carlton, we would have had a good last week into the Cats game. We would have been then more competitive. Probably still have lost, but not that thrashing. The Carlton game led to the thrashing and a bitter end to the year.
  22. I see Hibberd, Melksham, Salem and Weideman, as four new recruits/regulars in the 22. That is 20% of the side different to this year. Clearly Weed only played a couple of games and Salem not much more. When you add Oliver as a regular that is 25% of the side. On that basis, you can't really add many more. Development will be a key to our future, with the odd trade and continual good drafting, keeping up a good list. We are now in a good position to launch our assault. What we need most, is to find a consistency of good performance.
  23. And to you and your family. So many of us just don't know what others are going through in their daily lives. To some losing a footy match is as big as it gets. Pales into insignificance when we think of what you have gone through and what Mark is going through. All the very best to both of you and your families.
  24. There is a difference between smooth and successful. It could be one, both or neither. Clearly in our case it has been smooth, as Roos and Goodwin believe in it and support it. MM did not and he and Bucks clearly can't stand each other. As for successful, well we will see in time.
