Some people have no perspective. GWS lost pick 15 and were fined $100k for a decision by a couple of managers, to hide a player, in case there was a drug test, which incidentally there wasn't. We lost no picks and were fined $500k, for a club sanctioned attempt, to not do our best and thereby get pick 1, even though that was not the actual finding. Our whole club, including the Board, was behind our activity that lasted all year. Pick 15 is valuable to every club. As I said on here, GWS would get a decent penalty for what happened and compared to ours, it is harsh.

But it was a good one.

You don't have to like every Demon, or have feelings for them and ambivalence is fine. I was referring to posters who get downright nasty/vicious at our players when they leave.

Shuey and Selwood have just retired.

I think you will find in time, that that is incorrect. My very strong suspicion, is that he was told that he would most likely play most of the year at Casey and if he wished to retire, we would accommodate that, with a settlement of part of his 2017 contract. I believe the concussion issue to be a furphy. I still wish him well and don't know why people on here turn on our players so quickly. Surely we can all understand, that he would have preferred to play 40 more games with us and earn his full, remaining two years of his contract, rather than retiring and settling.

Wish him well in his next phase of life after AFL. Didn't work out the way we and he hoped, but that is AFL footy.

Tim Smith, with better delivery in the AFL and his strength at the contest, could be another wild card. Agree on Hannan, he seems to have some real talent, but is not a key position player. I just love that we are now talking about guys getting a game, who are clearly not seen as our best 22, yet could get there with hard work and some luck. We have got to a stage, where the worst players on our list, could still fill in when necessary. Our real depth seems to now go into the 30's, whereas a few years ago it could have ended in single digits.

The Rookie draft has come and gone. Category B and C Rookies are still available. I think we could take Allsop if we wanted to. Maybe they have their eyes on someone else or are happy to go in one rookie short.

I would say he is doing what he has been told. He has obviously had enough, as have we and Goody probably didn't want others being distracted with an unhappy, non committed, half hearted training sham of an effort.

We can add a category B or C Rookie.
