  1. Wasn't his fault, it was ours for taking him.
  2. Sometimes to ease your own depressed state you take solace in the misfortune of others. Perfectly understandable. I am sure everyone is sick of us whingeing about Toumpas, Cook, Maric, Gysberts, Blease, Tapscott etc, etc.
  3. 535000 population should fill a ground every 2nd week and have enough members to keep them going. Unlike GWS the population knows football and has a football history of great players in the AFL/VFL.
  4. If Goldstein goes forward, he must have a tall opponent. This needs to be planned and executed.
  5. Punting the farm on an injured player is usually not a great idea. Ask the Tigers and Hawks. Pies and Mayne looks like a great deal as well. There are lessons to be learned, hopefully we have.
  6. I don't think Jones is a priority either. A "Lever type" would be. It would just add so much to the side, allowing others to be moved around as well. Another Hunt ( or two) is a priority, but they don't grow on trees. It would be great for us if Hulett and White could step up as our depth would increase dramatically.
  7. You could be right.
  8. Smith was named in the group I referred to in Vogon's post. I don't see Garland on our list next year even if contracted.
  9. Pies won't move on their number 2 player of all time before season's end, Eddie won't allow it. However that is the weakest Hawks side I can recall in the last 10 years. No Frawley, Burchall, Stratton and Rioli. We would have killed that side 2 weeks ago.
  10. Yes there are . Always pay number 14 in the blue and white hoops jumper the free.
  11. Go easy on Bruce, he is a lovely bloke and is not well. He is working under difficulty. He loves the game and yes is too flowery in his commentary, but cut him some slack.
  12. Of the group you have listed, Lewis and Vince are nearer to the end of their careers and Harmes is very poor on disposal. I dont see NJ playing there realistically. However that still leaves 6 players and maybe Maynard as a future option making 7, so as you say we don't need Zac Jones to move Hunt. BTW you might recall I pushed for Zac a couple of years ago, before his value rose. That said he would find a place in our backline clearly and others like maybe Melksham would be moved on. I see a lot of improvement in Wagner to come. Lever, or a similar player however, would have to be a high priority, as you can then have more versatility in the side, like using Tom Mac in spells forward and in the ruck like last week. I actually think Tom is a hard match up, when pinch hitting in the ruck and going forward. No doubt as we get talked up in the media and play some good footy, we become far more attractive to other players and their managers. So unlucky ( again ) for us, that Jack Trengove didn't pass his Tiger's medical, as Lever would now be in red and blue. If we are a chance to get him, I see it costing players more than picks and the Crows wouldn't want rubbish. My take on our needs is, another key back and 2 outside mids with pace and disposal skill. While still needing to improve his disposal, Hunt could be one of those outside mids and gaining a Zac Jones, while helpful but not essential, could make that easier.
  13. Might be hard to do that when you are not selected.
  14. I just get the feeling with Hannan that he could be close to a breakout game. The confidence he would get from that could be career changing for him. He has some tricks. He can take a grab, kick one in a pack, is not slow and has a bit of height. We haven't seen his best, but the real question will be, is his best good enough.
  15. Not to mention belligerent and non cognisant.
  16. I wonder which Melbourne will turn up on sunday.
  17. Always preferred the green ones.
  18. No wonder DL is on the ropes, not one mention of a banana on any other thread.
  19. Do you believe that?
  20. It's more than 3.
  21. Yes they can, but not when the umpire initiates the contact. The umpire went back and hit Bernie on the face, with the back of his head. Didn't look too much, very surprised the umpire went off and stayed off.
  22. Also as we bang on time and again, when you have forwards ahead you don't p.ss fart around with stupid sideways handball and nothing kicks. We rotated Tom Mac, Weid, Pedo, Watts and Trac in the forward line, plus Hannan, Kent , Bugg and Jeffy, meaning there were players who could score there and the ball came down quickly.
  23. Coming off broken ribs he may be a bit tentative.
