You have missed my point. My post is about the media concentrating on a minor matter, as though it was a murder, rather than other more serious or interesting matters, that are available to be spoken about. People need to stop reading into posts what they think is being said, instead of what is actually being said. It was not a "woe is me" post, it was a comment on the media, turning a small matter into WW3, hence the title "Media Madness".

I disagree. Yes they do. An incident may be mentioned once and then never heard again. How many times was the Stengle incident mentioned? How many times was the Cat’s players sexual assault issue mentioned? How many times was the Luke Ryan incident mentioned? There are driving accidents with parked cars that get one mention and never spoken of again. There are numerous examples and I am not talking about names being suppressed possibly by Court orders, incidents can certainly be mentioned. If you don’t think some clubs have an ability to limit bad media exposure, we can agree to disagree.

I didn't say "the media is out to get us ", nor do I think it. I won't say that your post is a classic example of a DL misrepresentation of another's post, but rather that it was an incorrect conclusion. What I said was that a fairly minor story was the main media event, while far more serious stories are often ignored. Bigger clubs also have a way of avoiding bad publicity too. I then referred to a media that doesn't want to get offside with their golden goose.

Say it was a clumsy spoiling attempt and there is precedent in the Maynard Tribunal hearing. Call it a footy act.

Watching the game again, you can see the last kick into the F50, often ignores free players and is bombed to about 20-30 meters out, to a pack. All of our star mids, especially Viney, do this often and that is why we see 19 inside F50 entries in a quarter, for a one goal return. I am pretty sure the Coach is not saying to play this way and in fact he said just that. We have lost finals and multiple games, by ignoring free players and bombing it in to a pack. It is the players panicking and getting their kick away as their main goal, rather than delivering it to someone. Viney’s lack of pace obviously contributes to his issue and possibly to most of the others. We also are not a great disposal side and several of our better skilled players have been missing. That hasn’t helped the last couple of games.

Congratulations to our footy media, who think a Coach standing up for a player and suggesting all players have background stories or issues in their lives, is a bigger story than players involved in sexual assault, drug use, drugged /drunk unconscious emergency visits by ambulance to hospital, drunk driving, relationship cheating, organised theft on a large scale, salary cap rorting, inconsistent MRO findings, etc, etc, etc. We all know several of the stories going round the traps, but the footy media spends unbelievable time on a pretty minor story. OF COURSE most of the more serious stories that are ignored by the Footy media, generally involve the bigger and heavily protected AFL clubs. It reminds me of the old saying, “ don’t bite the hand that feeds you “.
  7. Agree. I think he was trying to stand up for his Captain, who always gives his all, but had a bad day. It was probably an off the cuff remark and he wasn't specific, just saying Max deserved a bit of slack. It's not a hanging offence.
  8. Would have thought " How Can I Be Sure" is more apt.
  9. Have posted exactly the same for a while. A few stars have helped paper over obvious cracks. We are also one of the slowest sides, both in running and reacting. Couldn’t agree more with you Jnr and we haven’t mentioned lazy forwards who refuse to lead or make space, or are playing to a poor game plan based on bombing it in. Charlie Comben, Corr and Pink however think it is a great style of play. Caleb, Judd and Kozzie will help when they are back, the question will be if they are enough. All is not lost, but we need to get our best side back ASAP and see how we go.
  10. That injury was vey unfortunate and robbed him of a chance to have a run at it. He looked to me to be crying and that is fully understandable.
  11. That is one of the biggest issues to solve. Are we being coached to bomb it in quickly, or are our forwards just not leading and making space. Then when we have a set shot, it would be helpful to at least kick the AFL average.
  12. They can’t handball either.
  13. Worst skilled side in the AFL. Torture watching mistakes.
  14. .
  15. I'd say 5 meters and a certain gimme goal. Shows some ability but not goal kicking accuracy with two misses in the last few minutes. Casey's kicking for goal worse than putrid. 2-9 Wasting game dominance, everywhere but on the scoreboard.

We all know what has happened here. Back to the grassy knoll theory. Crisp should have got a week, but he is a Pie going for an AFL record, so let the other guy off for a blatant punch to the face and everyone will be happy and let it slide. Think back to Sparrows’ suspension for a tackle, a couple of years ago, which was less or the same as Crisp. No Pies’ player going for a record that week. I still cannot get over or reconcile Kozzie’s latest 3 week suspension, involving the Pies’ Captain, dished out by a Pies’ Premiership player and then dismissed at a Tribunal headed by a self declared Pies’ fan. Oh yeah!

Well don’t you like to know what a kick, handball and mark are?

I thought we were lucky to get that one.

A lot of Salem’s possies come from the 20 metre to the Back Pocket kick outs, which then put us in a difficult 2nd kick possession. It stops run from the D50 as players further up the ground get manned up.

Can’t get a game with only Georgiades and Lukocius up forward. That’s a worry.

Agree. Will McCreery and Crisp be looked at for dangerous tackles, I think not.

Crowd at Bombers v Crows at the G, on a sunny saturday, with no Grand Prix, looks poor. Wonder if we will hear Caro and her mates knocking the Bombers’ fans.
