  1. I'd prefer Patrick Rose as a small forward. Hard, mature body, 24 or 25 years old and he kicks goals - I think he's kicked 70 odd goals this year? Better option than Wona or Maric.
  2. I agree he has superior pace and can gain 15-20m by playing on, but his ball drop is too high, hence he'll always remain quite unpredictable. Actually.....I prefer him in the mid field - time to use that pace and hulking body to good effect.
  3. Garland? Much better kick.
  4. The players need to want to 'compete' - the biggest ingredient in footy.
  5. I never saw Scully get the 'hard ball' - an outside mid ... I hope Jack lives up to his hype.
  6. I am seriously excited by this appointment. Don't let his pic fool you - Neeld is hard-nosed, uncompromising communicator who is in tune to the different learning styles of players and this allows them to develop their game quickly and cohesively. Once they hone their skills, this team will dominate.
  7. Scott Burns front runner for Dee's job with Neil Craig as assistant......
  8. No need to jump at shadows - Pratt always said that 'the best are still employed' If these coaches were any good, why would their clubs let them go? Using Pratt's quote as a guide, that leaves RL and MM.
  9. You're right diesel - this kid will prove to be the biggest liar in all these 'negotiations', as time unfolds. But, who cares? The Club needs to move on, we'll all survive and I reckon we've dodged a real bullet. For me, it's bring on the draft, bring on the new Coach, bring on the protein shakes and bring on the NAB cup!
  10. I was taking the urine - for want of a better expression.
  11. Young Tom will go into a different culture. I heard that not one player on the GWS list has a drink. He's a very lucky man.
  12. I agree that solidarity is now important but I'm not sure about your examples that belittle the Dees as an organisation. Scotty Thompson was home sick and had strong family ties in SA. Aker was caustic and dislodged the playing group. Judd WAS NEVER a possibility and Ball was not in the FD's plans. Jeff White came across and had a fantastic career with the Club. The Club has re-signed Trengove, Tapscott, Gawn, Sylvia, Moloney, Frawley and today, Martin and Morton. (I'm still convinced he'll come good) There are signatures from many more to come. We'll be okay, we've dodged a bullet and not created disharmony in the Club. I'm so looking forward to the draft and the signing of our new coach.
  13. Looked mighty comfortable when Sheedy ruffled his hair....couldn't wait to step away.
  14. Yeah - wasn't that great? I have long memory. I hate Essendon and I hate Hawthorn. Hope the Swannies slap them big time.
  15. Okay - you can't answer a question without a derogatory adjunct. Thanks.
  16. OK Sloonie - I give up....what an earth is your avatar??
  17. Never met him, have no sources, don't break bread from anyone of the Scully family - can you please tell me what you know of him? And who has told you about what you've heard of him?
  18. Yep - this was reported this morning on the SFS. Do you believe it?
  19. Hutchy's abrasive but not that dumb - he'd have spotters everywhere. Any baggage handler or check in clerk could be a friend and it's only a 20 min drive to the airport once the call's made......
  20. I can't wait to see the compensation. I can't wait for the draft. I can't wait to get another 25 games into our boys. I can't wait for 2012.
  21. Agreed - but I'm also watching stronger bodies and 5-9 year players working with a game plan.
  22. Changing your avatar tomorrow, RR?
  23. I think we need to be pragmatic about all this... Tom Scully, before he was taken Pick 1 in the draft said that he would 'love to go to Richmond' - not a great call. Secondly, Judd WAS NEVER coming to Melbourne. The Club couldn't afford him and his entire approach was tantamount to prostitution. Leigh Matthews called it disrespectful and making it almost a 'circus' (not unlike our ex - Tom) Warnock was problematical - he's not that good. If the Club was a basket case (and I acknowledge there are issues) Trengove wouldn't have signed, Tapscott wouldn't have signed, Sylvia wouldn't have signed, Watts wouldn't have signed etc.. Let's keep it in perspective. If Scully going to GWS is the worse thing that happens in our lives, we're travelling beautifully.
  24. No you're right - but he could have signed a pre nup?
  25. The Sunday Footy Show - Scully at the airport, going UP TO SIGN. Announcement as early as tomorrow. Derm's comments - 'If you're an adult, if you're undecided, you go up there alone, not chaperoned by Mum and Dad - if you take your parents, you're showing them what you're going to be moving to'. This came about as his entire family are going with him. Does this kid bend the truth or what?
