  1. Most of our players haven't chased all year. He's had 3 games and one pre - season. He needs to build elite fitness. The change is cultural and desire, rather than 'I've arrived and I don't need to listen....'
  2. Simplistic summation of a difficult situation. Jack has his limitations on the footy field and I'm not talking about his skills. I suppose then, in your world, blaming the coach is a an easy fix without delving into the deeper issues of poor culture that have plagued the club. Shame on him.
  3. That's a cheap shot, AF. The guy's played 3 games??? You're a bit harsh there.....
  4. Just heard on AFL 360 that the Dees (that came from Dwayne Russell on 3AW) have had a 'what if' meeting with Todd Viney.... The discussion centred around a possible loss on Sunday....
  5. Thanks, t. I only reported what I heard today.
  6. Worst......player........ever......... The best thing he ever did was thump Cloke.
  7. Further, it had something to do with his desire. His humility and pride at being drafted was unparalleled.
  8. Definitely M Jones - his attitude, (that would be expected at top clubs, btw) has been amazing and infectious. Leader written all over him.
  9. Not the theologian?
  10. I'm sorry but I have to be cryptic - I can't betray trust. Recruits that arrived in the mid to late 2000s brought along with them an attitude of hedonism and laziness. One prized recruit walked out from the club after a couple of years...you know who, as he couldn't cope with the attitude of a LARGE number of players. Players (some still there, others delisted...not traded) were treated like royalty and given everything. Money, courses, facilities. They were promised games and developed poorly. Other clubs made their players get involved in community projects, our boys had mancaves with all the perks. This instilled a poor, poor playing culture. Fitness levels fell away sharply. Neeld has tried to address this and I'll give you only one name that he thinks will turn this around. M Jones. I've probably said too much. Take of it what you will....the info was from a former assistant coach and recruiter.
  11. If Neeld is sacked, the sickening culture that has permeated the club will continue. I heard some disturbing news today that really shocked me.
  12. Selective listening? King and McLure are parroting pathetic media gibberish. Stand firm - don't be seduced by such rubbish.
  13. Sack Neeld!! Let's allow Watts, Frawley, Garland, Jamar, Sylvia, Davey, Blease etc etc strut their stuff, play (term used loosely) unaccountable footy. Allow them to train when they want, collect their fat salary, grab a drink card.....as long as we get 8 and a half wins a year, it's all good.
  14. It was an awful day. Nothing's changed. He's copped a heavy tag in his first two games and struggled to cope. Mind you, I don't think our coaches have helped him enough....but, he needs to stand up.
  15. Now, that's a nice trifecta. But, for now, Neeld must stay. I'd be throwing coin at Ling to be an assistant for next year.
  16. I did. I chose to twist it. Thank you.
  17. I agree....if Watts plays, Neeld has lost me. And, for the one thousandth time, Magner is ineligble to play.
  18. Jones and Clark B graders? *not sure if serious*
  19. This is true and something that The Ox and Doctor Turf raised with him - his response was somewhat veiled.......
  20. Wow! Damning stuff indeed. The bearded ones.....Watts, Frawley, Gillies, who else? I noticed that Mitch Clark was clean shaven last Saturday.
  21. I'll tell how we developed them....they were bloody good players from the START. Your pathetic, unsubstantiated, one line sniping is growing very, very tiresome.
  22. At least they deserve one year?
  23. DFW, no need to apologise, you're a passionate Dee's supporter and I respect and admire this. I'm hurting just like you. Footy doesn't dominate my life, but I hate seeing my side getting punched up every week. I believe that Mark Neeld's position needs to be reviewed at the end of the year, under due process, as every professional organisation needs to do. Further, the playing list should not escape this scrutiny either. Mark Williams, in my opinion, is finished as an AFL coach. I'm not convinced that his time at GWS worked. If (and that's a big if) Neeld gets replaced, I'd prefer a coach that has been out of the game for only a short time.
  24. DFW, I won't respond as rudely as you, but I'm happy to debate your comment. There are a core group of players at the club who want to succeed, are happy to be challenged and realise the urgency of what it takes to be an AFL footballer. They have been CHALLENGED by the coach (es), fitness staff, their peers and they have an altruistic desire to succeed. The AFL environ is tough and most of our players need a wake up call. Neeld is measured, articulate and has a burning desire to succeed with everyone around him. FWIW, Port's list is very good and they recruited very well over the pre-season. Their better players have come back after injury. Neale Daniher's list was ready to go.....
  25. No, you go first. Then we can have a debate, if you're up to it.
