  1. Not better.... yet. Bad picks may yet sink us. They say that players' actions equate to coach killers - well, recruiting guys make or break teams.
  2. WYL, you and I have been around long enough to see AGMs, EGMs, mergers, coaches, next big things all come and go. What we HAVEN'T seen is standards, high expectations, someone to come to this club with no flavour or fervour to GET IT GOING. Our young list is almost as good as GCS (except SofG) and like cunnerz09 said, let's get some games into players who give a stuff!
  3. Yes it does.
  4. We're looking at the 2015 or 2016 premiers. These kids are amazing. It's not rocket science to see what priority drafting, plus money, plus the best AFL player in the last 10 years can do to advance a club. We had Cook, Gysberts, Morton, etc come to our club. Fmd.
  5. Thank you. You know, the sprinting guy!! Anyhoo, you all get my analogy.
  6. Terrific post and relevant. I'm telling youse all right now, NEELD HAS SHUT SHOP!! He's giving them NOTHING and only those that are media savvy and have composure with the media are allowed to front the camera...look at Dawes on The Footy Show the other night. They are making sh*t up to have a story, as they're all so irrelevant at the moment. Hang tough...
  7. Not an A grader (at the moment) but, fmd, I'll take any midfielder at the moment!
  8. It's more about pace. Couch and Magner in the same team makes McLean look like Hussein.
  9. GWS are going alright, aren't they? 31 - 1 Have Geelong woken up yet??
  10. You never know - the lure of the coin? New challenges? Motivation? New list? Anything can happen. Further, the footy world is sitting back and watching Neeld absorb pressure, the media and naysayers. Sends a message of unity if we don't react to Carro, Healy, etc.
  11. HH, you keep saying this. Lighten up, son.
  12. Premiership coaches are not always readily available, or they've been out of the game too long. Worsfold's future looks uncertain, but I'd doubt he would move east....back to pharmacy, I'd say. Neeld must see out his contract and then be assessed on merit.
  13. Sums it up, doesn't it?I think The Ox might be regretting his comments. Fairly thoughtless, insensitive and disrespectful. As for Kennett....waste of space.
  14. I think that the GCS are showing that they could possibly make the eight this year. Gamble for 2014? Maybe. Let's see what the remainder of 2013 looks like first.
  15. Maybe. I think the kid was drafted at a bad time for the club. Supporters were waiting for a messiah, a hero, an icon. JW was hung out to dry. I hope he smashes it against Collingwood on Liz's birthday.
  16. What's that saying about a fool and his coin? BTO will have his usual redback on the Dees
  17. I reckon they should test the waters for a possible trade...
  18. Happy Birthday for Sunday, WYL. Have a great day.
  19. Good post. By his presence and demeanour, he was able to change and manipulate the tone of the panel and the show. The guy demands respect and last night, I thought he really got it.
  20. I agree - but he couldn't come out and do a comedy act. I thought he was measured and reflective. He is captain of his zone...when Mitchy gets back, Dawesy will muster the troops in that arc.
  21. Therein lies your problem. Jordie McK is a genuine, negating tagger, Tapscott plays HFF and delivers a big bump every 3 games or so and JT is the skipper who plays forward and is a better kick. All slow, and to add Magner to this crop would mean top heavy slow.
  22. Can't deny it - it's your club.
