  1. Granted. But, here was a kid that was available, a big, strong, clearance player and we picked the wrong one! Jonesy and Col were much maligned, but they played their early games with rigour and love for the contest.
  2. You don't get it either. Time is something that this club may not have! Wines is an IMPACT player.
  3. Therein lies our effen problem!! Down the Morton track? Watts track? Cook track? Toumpas track? Tapscott track? There aint no tracks left!!!!
  4. Make that thrice.
  5. Hope you're right D26. If he does, I want him to deliver the pill with the attitude of a Selwood or a Mitchell. With a snarl, with arrogance, with disdain.
  6. It's not about shooting up the ladder. It's about stripping the culture of meekness and getting some combative spirit on the list.
  7. I assume this post is aimed at me? At least you've made the conscious decision to engage on a positive level. For years and years we have maligned the demise of the hard nut at our footy club. We now have two. A third would have been Wines who plays the game with rigour, loves the contest and gets his own ball. I have not seen any of these traits in Jimmy Toumpas. If we're going down the stats route, we got smashed in clearances in 2012. Another opportunity gone to recruit a ready made hard nut.
  8. Indeed? Are we repressing the dark thought that another draft mistake has been committed??
  9. As WYL said, impact players were needed. Jimmy doesn't have the presence or strength to impose himself on a game. Wines has done it in his first year.
  10. Forget about Daniel Cross. Will probably retire at the end of the season. Will be 31 next year and injuries are catching up with him.
  11. Did Viney pick Toumpas so that Vines wouldn't show up Jack jnr?
  12. MFC supporters are so damaged that the thought of having stuffed up another draft pick could send some spiralling into madness! Hence, the constant denial that keeps that sanity intact.
  13. Oh well. Hopefully there'll be a midfielder that sticks out like the proverbial dog's anatomy as 'ready to play' in this year's draft.
  14. Tell him he's dreamin'....GCS aren't that naive. If Prestia wants out, they'll want a decent trade.
  15. Deliberating? Or debilitating? Neither. This post is the most alarmist bs I have ever read on a forum. He's not a champion, he's not a star, he's not the heart and soul of the club, no player is. If he wants to move on, move on.
  16. I think the urgency is in Frawley and Gawn.
  17. I know where you're coming from but we have a point of difference - JW is not in our best 22.
  18. Callum Ward? Chris Judd? Gary Ablett? David Hale? Josh Gibson? Ivan Maric? Chris Knights? Mitch Clark? Chris Dawes? Brendon Goddard? Ben McGlynn? Shane Mumford? Ted Richards? And so on and so on, and so on.
  19. His career is 59 games. How many were good ones? 30? I'd say less than 20.
  20. Wow! Imagine Dockerland.com going nuts over the Watts vs Nik Nat comparison. Fish bowl!!!
  21. Exactly....anyone?
  22. On a lighter note, Black Caviar's little brother just sold for 5 million. I wonder what insurance on a gee gee like that would cost?
