  1. Do you even understand what `falling apart' entails. What do you think it means ?

It would mean undoing all the good work that`s been achieved over the last two years. Just because we are not winning doesn`t mean things aren`t improving.

Your either a troll, someone who couldn`t care less about the club or just totally clueless. Think before you type.

Anyway, i`m off to the footy.

    Go Dees

  2. A bit of a hypothetical here :

What would be the chances of a young player not liking the look of the teams getting early picks, so has a chat to one of the bigger clubs and agrees to take it easy at carnivals / draft camp to ensure he slips through to them. Far fetched or not ??

  3. You respected Leigh Matthews?

I remember what a nasty sniping thug he was so I guess I am coming off a lower base. Fine footballer when he went for the ball - an animal at other times - very good coach, but respect as a bloke? Naah.

As for what he said about Watts, we're over reacting aren't we?

He said he had not seen last night why the kid went No 1. So? Has anyone else seen it at AFL level. I don't think so. He showed some promise last night. Compare Watts' laser straight kicks at goal to that wobbly one from Miller. Took a nice mark, but Matthews was saying he was not having the impact of Rich, which is right.

But Matthews did not say Watts should not have been No 1 - just that he isn't showing it yet.

Anyways, next week he will be back at Casey. He's had a taste of the pace and the pressure and now he gets it eased back some to refine his game.

Yes spot on re Matthews. I will never forget the day i stood mortified as he smashed Steven Smith`s nose across his face well behind play at Princess Park. Similar to his whack on N.Bruns that had him charged.

It just so happened that i knew his young daughter at the time and that night, as my parents were away, i had a party (as you do). Later on she said her goodbyes as her dad was here to pick her up. Here`s

my chance, i thought. I went out to the veranda and from a distance of about forty metres, in my high pitched, quivering voice, i gave him a serve any Melbourne supporter would be proud of. Obviously

i`m still alive today - i made sure his window was up !

  4. I think it`s going to take Jack a few weeks to find his feet. He seemed a bit unsure where to run and where he should be. Probably hasn`t been to as many team meetings as others.

I`m sure he`ll pick it up pretty quick though, he`s a smart kid.

  5. My silly brother (who works with a Coll board member or director or something) rang me two weeks ago to tell me Malthouse would go to Richmond at the end of the year.

Only hiccup would be that North would make a move to try to steal him.

I told him he was an idiot and obviously wrong on both counts but now i`m starting to wonder.

I just didn`t think North could afford Malthouse and i didn`t think he`d want to go to Richmond.

  6. Thanks for the replies :D

Cricketers Arms looks like a good little pub - looked it up on google maps ;)

Although... comments about the Royal have piqued my interest o_0

The Royal is only about 80 metres from the Cricketers, and if you go to the Cric then check out the beer garden.

It may sound a bit lame but Fed Sq. and the walk is actually good. You will feel quite proud to be amongst so many Dees suporters.

  7. Great day and and an even better win.

Congratulations to all who pulled on the red and blue as it was a well earned, gutsy, come from behind win.

Lucky i didn`t allow the goal the umpire tried to give them, ( at least i came in handy )

But seriously a great effort from everyone and i hope the knee is ok Rivo.

Thanks to Rollo, Redleg & WJack for organizing and i even thought the umpire did a good job.

See you at the Saints game

  8. Yes Voss threw a billiard ball at some bloke's head and he is widely regarded as the very definition of AFL captain

    good post

leave your soft, trivial reservations at the door please EB and everyone like you. We have a football side here not a bloody sewing circle.

    Wrong

Voss & co belted the bloke that threw the ball.

You can watch it on Youtube ( or at least you could)
