Out: Garland
In: Davey - most will disagree, perhaps even on the merits that he may not be best 22, but whilst fitness and form have waned he is still very much a leader at the club. I think a recall would do him and the youngsters coming through a lot of good.
Possible Out: Jamar
Possible In: Watts - has leadership potential and this is likely to be the year he becomes fully grounded as an AFL footballer.
Your kidding right ??
-
Had a chat to him during the "walk to the G' last year and was impressed with his build then.
Played a few really good games with Casey last year before doing his back.
He's a goer and would have cracked it for a game if not injured i think.

You obviously haven't heard Gangnam
-
We should be going after Patton or Cameron. I think they owe us.
-
Beaten in GF today by 5 pts.
-
Take them to as many clinics as possible where they meet the players. Get them to try and form a bond with one. They'll be hooked hopefully.

Davey was gone 2 years ago.
Half of Demonland wanted him captain 18 months ago.
Search it, Aaron Davey 4 captain etc....
Gee i laughed.

Sad news, a fully fit and commited LJ would certainly be an asset. I think a few Melbourne 'stars' might struggle under the new regime based on past form. At least i hope so.
-
To get them out of bed and leading a normal 9-5 lifestyle as opposed to playstation and the casino.
Yes, i'm serious.
Whilst they dont all need prompting, many do.
-
I just hope the club backs him and continues to back him in whatever he wants and needs.
That will be the issue for me.

How come Mark Jamar never gets mentioned ?????

We lost because they killed us for intensity. Words are being used like "desperation", "forward pressure"; they laid 80 tackles (who lays 80 tackles in a praccy match? that would equate to 100+ tackles in a full-length match) & got 10 of their goals from turnovers. They tagged our best runners (who the hell runs two hard tags - on Davey & Sylvia - in a praccy match?)
We didn't expect to come across a team playing with such intensity in the second round of the NAB Cup.
Yet we were only 10 points down early in the last quarter. We were missing some of our most "intense" players - Scully, McKenzie, Frawley, Wona (who adds a lot of forward pressure). It's not the end of the world.
But it did show up beautifully all our problem areas where we'll have to improve, especially against that sort of intensity. It's always the clubs who play against us with that extra 10% of intensity that make us look ordinary, the main examples being North & Carlton every year, West Coast last year. Our advantages in skill won't be enough to be competitive against sides playing with that level of intensity, unless we can match that intensity.
Here endeth the lesson.
spot on

Looked worse than it was i thought.
What was worse was the deliberate smack in the mouth LJ copped. Was spiiting blood for the rest of the Q.

I didn't beleive the 6 mil over 6 years rumour as i thought we'd match that.
3mil upfront then 2 mil a year is more like it. They'd build a team around him.
It's serious money and i know what i'd do. Don't forget, he hasn't supported melbourne all his life.

Look i never thought i'd post something like this but in a 'tweet' a few hours ago, Craig Hutchison said we'd finish top 4 or better this year.
I can't do the link thing but his twit name is @craighutchy. Says our back half will be the key.
Whilst i may not agree (but happy to see), i thought a few people might be interested.
-
I think we've found him.
He's back........

The question asked was dirtiest players. Whilst an absolute champion, Leigh Mathews was definately a dirty dog.
Saw the Steven Smith whack as a kid and was horrified
-
With the greatest respect to Brent Moloney, he could be struggling to hold his place in 12 months time. Could be a risky move IMO. I'm hoping Moloney, Jones, Bruce etc will have to have improved to be getting a game in the next 2 years.
-
Why on earth would you give the kid/anyone a senior game when they're playing ok at best in the 2nds.
When he can string 4 or 5 really good games together, then he'll be ready.
I would imagine the club would have the same attitude.
If that's next year, then so be it.
FWIW i think he's a year or two (yes) away and that if he wants it, he,ll make it. Might be more a question of desire, skill only takes you so far.
-
The kicking back was a result of Nth Melbs first class pressure and thats what won them the game.
Grimes to Casey calls, show your complete lack of understanding of the game.
How on earth can you say that.
And yes, Jack Grimes is certainly "living up to the hype".
-
I not only want Grimes dropped, i think he should be cut from the list altogether.
Why did we draft this kid
His brother is better.
Maybe Tigers will swap
-
With the $$$ GWS and WS have at their disposal they won't be chasing rubbish.
-
Would love to see Garland given a crack. Wasn't he recruited as a forward ?
-
Only whispers i've heard are Petterd and Frawley. Petterd worries me as he's a Qld boy. Either would shatter me.
Anyone know if they are contracted ??

I don't know what's more embarrassing. Sitting in Bay 13 or getting that full on midstrength that you carry on and get kicked out.
