  1. Out: Garland

In: Davey - most will disagree, perhaps even on the merits that he may not be best 22, but whilst fitness and form have waned he is still very much a leader at the club. I think a recall would do him and the youngsters coming through a lot of good.

    Possible Out: Jamar

Possible In: Watts - has leadership potential and this is likely to be the year he becomes fully grounded as an AFL footballer.

    Your kidding right ??

  2. Had a chat to him during the "walk to the G' last year and was impressed with his build then.

Played a few really good games with Casey last year before doing his back.

He's a goer and would have cracked it for a game if not injured i think.

  3. We lost because they killed us for intensity. Words are being used like "desperation", "forward pressure"; they laid 80 tackles (who lays 80 tackles in a praccy match? that would equate to 100+ tackles in a full-length match) & got 10 of their goals from turnovers. They tagged our best runners (who the hell runs two hard tags - on Davey & Sylvia - in a praccy match?)

We didn't expect to come across a team playing with such intensity in the second round of the NAB Cup.

Yet we were only 10 points down early in the last quarter. We were missing some of our most "intense" players - Scully, McKenzie, Frawley, Wona (who adds a lot of forward pressure). It's not the end of the world.

But it did show up beautifully all our problem areas where we'll have to improve, especially against that sort of intensity. It's always the clubs who play against us with that extra 10% of intensity that make us look ordinary, the main examples being North & Carlton every year, West Coast last year. Our advantages in skill won't be enough to be competitive against sides playing with that level of intensity, unless we can match that intensity.

    Here endeth the lesson.

    spot on

  4. With the greatest respect to Brent Moloney, he could be struggling to hold his place in 12 months time. Could be a risky move IMO. I'm hoping Moloney, Jones, Bruce etc will have to have improved to be getting a game in the next 2 years.

  5. Why on earth would you give the kid/anyone a senior game when they're playing ok at best in the 2nds.

When he can string 4 or 5 really good games together, then he'll be ready.

I would imagine the club would have the same attitude.

If that's next year, then so be it.

FWIW i think he's a year or two (yes) away and that if he wants it, he,ll make it. Might be more a question of desire, skill only takes you so far.

  6. The kicking back was a result of Nth Melbs first class pressure and thats what won them the game.

Grimes to Casey calls, show your complete lack of understanding of the game.

How on earth can you say that.

And yes, Jack Grimes is certainly "living up to the hype".
