  1. Jimmy and his family are not very complimentary about MFC, and made particular mention to my contact, of Roosy being "not very approachable" and of their boy not getting enough support (Im paraphrasing here as i cant remember the exact words used). Some other stuff i heard make me very comfortable with the decision to trade him.

    Not much lost i feel.

  2. Reading one of the BF threads and it is absolutely GLORIOUS seeing LanceUppercut flailing around trying to defend his Drug cheating scum of a team.

Arrogance, mixed with denial, topped with desperation. (Oh and its all someone elses fault)

    Just glorious .................

Today is a very very good day. :)

That's not quite correct od. Fitzpatrick has pointed out that they want to give Jobe an opportunity to be heard as to his arguments why he should be able to keep the medal. Clearly that couldn't happen before today. I think it's a proper process. (And I think the AFL will have no choice but to take his medal from him.)

adds context i guess.... Makes sense

Sorry, ding. Sincere apologies. I didn't mean to offend. I had hoped someone else would pick me up for doing exactly the same thing but apparently irony can be hard to detect on this internet thingy.

didnt see your original post so i also apologize.

    Sledge unconditionally retracted.

  5. Staggering that the AFL is pretending that this outcome is a complete shock, and that the possibility of Jab having to hand back the Charlie will only now be considered.

The whole world will get to see what a smug, self-serving, arrogant administration our game has.

Seems a bit cowardly. Not game to do so in person?

What a joke you are pal..... tell you what, you round up all the Essendon supporters you know and bring them round to my place in Shepparton and i will be most happy to give it to them while you watch on and judge my courage.

    ffs

  7. I have not been this happy about a football story for a long time.

Essendon Football Club will forever after be known as Drug Cheats.

    Forever.

I will be scouring the internet looking to rub as many arrogant EFC supporters noses in this as i possibly can.

AFL will be be hysterical in their attempts to save face and protect the Brand. Cant wait for the presser................

Hey Jab, hand it back pal, you know you cant keep it.

  8. If Jack Watts didnt play a single game this season, hardly anyone in the football world would say "Poor Melbourne are without JW this week". Thats the sad reality. When he gets dropped for form or injury i dont care one bit as i know that we wont be any worse off as a team for his absence. I hate the fact i can say this without any guilt whatsoever as he has the best weighted kick in the game as far as im concerned. I cant name a single player who can drop a ball into space and make a leading forward run to that spot at full tilt to get the mark like Jack can................

That one skill does not make up for his absolute inability to impact a contest. I gave up forever when he was pantsed 1:1 by Jamie Bennell. Until that time i hoped, week after week, that the penny would drop.

Sublime skills but soft, physically weak, and scared of the contest. Will be traded when his contract is up unless he discovers courage. Nobody with footy I.Q. should care.

Welcome to the new, Hard MFC.

  9. This was I think a snide reference to Jordie McK - the dedication, work ethic, ability to get every ounce from himself, and courage would also be well worthwhile transferring to any player.

Agree 100%. Macka mightn't have the the best skill in the league (who could possibly argue), but the guy gives it everything he has. If only some of our more talented players gave the same effort...................

  10. Im one of the (likely) many who have never really given a [censored] about the Board/Pres/CEo, and have barely even cared to research who was running the show, but this bloke is a different kettle of fish. To me this is almost as important a contract extension as Hogan or Brayshaw.

For someone who has no MFC blood inside him, he seems to honestly give a rats about our success in the future. Not to mention the fact he appears to be the consummate Pro.

    Massive news for the club.

Cheers Pete. *raises cheap red wine

  11. Kent, for mine, is only slightly behind Truck on the " i cant wait to see how he goes this (coming) year" list.

Has the mongrel about him that Roos loves, and might just be an injury free season away from becoming a genuine gun. Obviously i have high hopes, but im rarely wrong :)

    GO KENTYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  12. It referred the point of choosing clubs. We were his only suitor . He by all accounts wanted out. His choice was...US...or stay.

I think its relevant. No one else was making a bee line to windy hill for him, let alone throwing a 4 year contract under his nose

So you admit he had a choice. My point exactly. We are apparently throwing piles of cash up in the air to attract anyone who wants to grab it, and everyone else so far has said "no thanks". Here is a bloke who didnt say that.

    I repeat.....

    Welcome Jake
