Peter Jackson got Roos in and said 'what/who do you need", and then ensured he got it

As you all know I speak to the players quite often, all have said, it is a team now, there are no stars, you get a role, you play it, you play it consistently well, you stay in the team, if you can't crack a spot in the position you normally play, you can have a crack at another position at Casey, see how you go, see if you can get in the team that way.......Michie.............the coaches will help you have a crack at the other spot......the ball is very much in the players hands.....you make the effort you get rewarded

As for Neal Bullen, had a bit of an interrupted pre season and Clayton Oliver jumped him, just has to bide his time, but we are going to have a battle hardened replacement who is in top form should we need him

    Yeah, shyte hot.

This is what the good teams do.

To whet your appetite......and if he keeps developing as he is........and comparisons which we all hate.......Jack Darling.......had the opportunity to spend half an hour with him a couple of weeks ago, absolutely stoked to be on an AFL list, regards it as a privilege, determined to give it absolutely everything.....thinks the development he is getting from the coaches is first class

Same thing said by Weeds family so it was written on here last week.

Finally we have a REAL footy club by the sound of it. Roos might get most of the plaudits, but our entire development team need a pat on the back. (Even if we dont win tomorrow)

Hullett also done some nice things today.

we are building some real kpp depth

Can you tell us much about Huletts game? Nobody ever seems to talk about him.

"He is sound in front of goal and the Demons see him
developing into a third tall forward." From MFC website.

3rd tall like Watts? I thought he was more of a crash and bash type?

  4. Really enjoying having players in the 2's who are smashing it week after week and still not getting a game in the 1's. (Sorry for them ofc, but we need this so badly)

Do they call it deept, deepth,.... depteh ..... something like that. Havent had it for so long i forget how you say it.

Tough day for the tall marking forward with the wind blowing it all over the place. He moves well, attacks it in the air and disposes well. He will be a player in time. We gotta beauty there.

beautiful pick up and handball lead to a scorps goal q 2. Real skill required and executed to perfection

Yeah see this is exactly the sort of thing i want to hear about him every week. Gives a person genuine hope.

Keeping a lid on but yes, watched him against Collingwood, skillset really good, McCartney will turn him into the player everyone wants him to be

So he isnt a one trick pony with good hands but not much else? ( rhetorical question really )

Leads to the right spots, second efforts, forward line pressure, tackle, chase etc . He shows signs of doing all the stuff that doesn't get stats? (tackles do ofc)

He holds more interest for me than anyone else at Casey as he is our fallback plan if the Hulk leaves.

  7. Yeah, we all want to win...... thats a given.

But we also know that the Dogs are a considerably better team than we are ATM. Doesnt mean we cant win, but it does mean it will be against the odds if we do.

We get close and lose, im not so angry. We win and i am both surprised and pumped.

Dogs for the win. ( Sorry )

    P.S. GO DEES !!

  8. "No not a chance. No way," Hogan told Channel 10 on Wednesday.  (When asked if he had met with Freo while in Perth this week)

Now by itself it doesnt mean much as his management would be doing the negotiating atm, so he would have no reason to meet them, but just the way he is quoted as saying it gives me hope...

And if he does go, welcome Lachie Neal and a first round pick at least. I desperately want him to stay as i am certain he will become something very special, but if he goes we can still be confident that MFC are heading into the 8 regularly over the next several years, and we will still have our shot.

Who's to say we wont snag a big name of our own anyway? Wins = more appeal, and we should win plenty.

    *shrug

P.S. STAY JESSE WE LOVE YOU YA BIG LUNK. (And you will miss playing with Weideman)

One other thing that MAY work in our favour is the fact that the umpires will have been told to be very aware of the numbers of free kicks being paid following the farcical one sided count in the Bulldogs v Crows game.

    Very good point.

  10. Prestia is a gun, and would give us more options than we currently have. With Prestia in our side, we could use Brayshaw and Bernie from half back to give us much better disposal from that area of the ground. I would take Prestia any day of the week for a first rounder, and even throw in our second round for their third. (The way they are playing it wont be too much of a downgrade)

He's fit enough. The concern I have with Christian is that he may be too much of a confidence player. Hope I'm wrong and he burns it up in the second half.

So the better we get, the better he gets?

    I could live with that.

Bugg, Gawn, Jetta, Hunt and Jones the best so far. If we keep the ball out of McDonald, Wagner and Garland's hands we'll win.

paraphrasing.. "if we keep the ball out of our backline we will win"

    Agree 100% :)
