Make no mistake, this team will be good. Its the beginning, not the end.

I agree. I actually think we have the makings of a very very good team.

Cant see us getting close today though.

You have been critical of people say we're a chance. I see that "we need to win" and "we're a chance" have different meanings and interpretations, but you've kind of gone against your own mantra here.

Simple, we need to win or come close.

    But we wont.

Actually its this misplaced positivity that makes me shake my head. Have not beaten a single team that was above us on the ladder this year (before game day), and somehow people think we will come out and win against the in-form team on top of the ladder.

What has happened to peoples common sense?

And I shake my head at supporters like yourself. What a sad way to go in to each game, not believing we can win. We have had a real crack in every game this year, today will be no different.

Hawks will probably be too strong for us, but looking forward to seeing our exciting, young talent having a real crack today. Anything is possible.

lol i predicted a 7 goal win last week, so you are not only wrong, but seem to be one of those supporters who cant think beyond "Go Dees".

I wont get any enjoyment out of being flogged today. None.

We need to win, or at the very least scare the bejeezus out of Hawthorn to get much out of today. This constant mantra of "maybe next year" has worn out its welcome.

  4. We fell over the line against a decimated Gold Coast,

Go in this week with an even less experienced side,

Playing the best team of the past decade

And STILL people think we will win?

Sometimes i just shake my head................

  5. I was sure Hulett would get a debut before the Weed. His form has been better according to most reports, and he is far more advanced physically.

Actually its probably an easy game as far as Melbourne forwards are concerned, as the ball will not likely be spending much time in our forward 50. At least he gets a taste without getting too roughed up, unless they go the Biff behind the play.

Good luck Weed, i hope you do well.

I just responded as such in another thread.  They are dreaming.  I'd be calling for Mahoney's head on a plate if they made that trade.

    Couldnt agree more.

I would lose my shyte if, for even a nanosecond, we contemplated giving up a first rounder for Hibberd. I want him, but for a second rounder at best. Any more than that and Essedun can get stuffed.

We rolled over for the Melk, and it cost us a full year of lost games. These pricks owe us and we should be as hard nosed about this deal as possible.

FFS it is WELL overdue that we finally grew some balls when it came to trades, especially in regards to the drug cheats.

  7. First time this year i have dared to watch live on tv, and im already reminded why i usually dont watch.

I cant even find the energy to shake my head at how bad we look so far.

Thank GOD i go to work soon so i cant watch any more..................... We need to fire up or this could get ugly.

What have they learnt from the Essendon game? Overwhelming favourites. A depleted opposition. The game being played on our home deck. We should win by 10 goals. This will be an interesting game.

This is exactly what i have been thinking about this game.

Should be ours on a platter. Problem is, we still seem to have one effort game followed by absolute tripe. Guess which one we are due for..............

realise that we could well finish in the bottom 4 AGAIN

GC have more than half their best 22 out.  losing is not an option

This sounds exactly the same as the Essedun game.

We surely must have learned our lesson.

    Surely.

    Melb by several goals.

  10. The Eagles have belted much better teams than us in Perth this year, with only one bad game against the Crows. We are historically rank away from the MCG.

Adds up to an 80+ point loss in my book.

Yeah, no confidence at all in our kids this week. Just hope it doesn't completely destroy any remaining confidence the boys have.

Not angry, just can't believe the defeatist attitude.

We are win with a shot, and can beat, quite a number of sides in the final 9 rounds.  Gold Coast, Carlton and Fremantle are games we should win.  We are in with a chance against Port, Adelaide (because it's at the G) and the Saints (don't give me the Etihad stuff, they're beatable).  To me, we can put at least 4 more wins on the board and finish with 10 for the season.

Still think we will win 10? If so who do you see us beating?

I missed on Freo, but i would still bank on being closer to the mark with my prediction.

Confident against the Suns, but after today thats the only other win i am confident about. Anything else would be a big upset, as even Carlton will surely start strong favorites.

Today was a massive kick in the guts for the majority of MFC supporters.

Because there is no "we" in this discussion, the only person who can initiate the walk for free scenario is Hibberd, and he probably won't for the reasons outlined. I doubt the MFC gives a fat rat's clacker about how it hurts Essendon. I sure don't.

The MFC has to look after the interests of the player it is trying to recruit. I'm sure the MFC would love him to come for free and will probably say to him "how about it?", but at the end if the day if the club wants Hibberd, it should be prepared to pay as it would under normal circumstances. The responsible thing to do is start preparing for that scenario now so we are ready for it, and worry about the cheaper path when that opens up, if it does.

STOP MAKING SENSE AND BEING SO DAMN REASONABLE NASH.

I want these bastards to bleed. Especially as Gil and Co decided that the deserved ZERO A.F.L. sanctions for administering performance enhancing drugs to almost their entire list. FFS they didnt even get hit with "Bringing the game into disrepute"

Cant wait for the appeal to be dismissed so they can be called drug cheats forever (officially)

  13. Stuff the drug cheats. I say we take whatever we can from the pryks for as little as humanly possible. If there is a rule that says we can do it, why waste a second of our time worrying about how it affects Essedun.

Would love to see both players walk for no cost to us. Lets face it, the AFL will find a way to compensate Druggendon, so why waste our resources?

If we absolutely must pay something, tell 'em its a second rounder or off to the tribunal.

Nice guys come last and we have been nice for far too long.

  14. This is Melbourne we are talking about. I havent seen anything this season that makes me confident of a win on the road, especially against Freo. Even with half their list out. We are kids playing against men.

Them by 4 or 5 goals.

Still, i would like to be wrong.

    Go Dees.
