  1. This part is also of interest from the press conference: Jackson said he would take responsibility "as a matter of urgency" to convince the players of the merits of staying. "We need to convince them as a club this is a place they want to be for the next 10 years of their career." 2. As you mentioned you would assume Craig would be highly paid so no need to give him a pay rise like a Rawlings if he took on the job in the short term. This will also clear up any issues around reporting lines as now Craig will report into Mahoney now? So it looks like a win win from that sense. It has been a lose lose overall though. F me, how much money has been lost on this last 2 years. Good luck Mark, you at least gave it a shot. Hopefully learnt some things for next time. Enjoy the holiday and relax. Dees for f's sake lets get the next one right, Jackson has a lot of pressure on how he sets up the FD moving forward and finding the right next coach. I also think we need a lot more experience in the assitant coaches level as well.
  3. Thank you for the indepth detail. God that is horrible reading on how poorly funded/managed our recruiting, drafting teams have been and lack of player development during the years has been.
  4. .... Is the AFL going to run an eye over our final draft board just to be sure we get it right this time?
  5. I'll be completely deaf to it because I'll be drunkly laughing and crying all at once very loudly!!!
  6. That's his highly paid job, to write articles using his knowledge and history but doing some actual research. In this day and age it is not that hard to www.google, melbourne football club, it is a lot harder to read what that search spits out.
  7. So far from hilarious it's not funny. We are a rabble and a laughing stock who has to go to the AFL for money and further draft assistance because we have no idea what we are doing. I'm just hoping this is (another) first small step on some kind road to respectability and winning on the field.
  8. Don thank you.
  9. Is she live blogging the visit, with her microphone pen she "dropped" on her visit yesterday.
  10. He is mailing it in and has been for years. As most suggested is a lazy writer. I'd actually love to go back over his articles over the years and see how many opinions he has stated have been correct. Don't think it would be many.
  11. Like it was his choice or the clubs choice if true, I'm talking about Clarke.
  12. At least we are consistent, we played the same as our last 2 actual Grand Finals in 2000 and '89.
  13. Fark me!!! That is disgraceful, I wonder how many points for the year would be scored from our turn overs....
  14. Fitzy has a llllloooonnnggg way to go to make it as a player, his hands about his head are putrid. Out fwd 50 entries are horrible! Garland... Doing so well.
  15. Garland is a star! Been huge so far. Cloke to big for him.
  16. Composure, composure, COMPOSURE!!! Come on Dees!!
  17. Reid just monstering Watts in the air.
  18. It was Zig and I'm not touching that one.
  19. Bozo would be a great candidate, he brings se colour and vibrancy that has been sorely lacking from a MFC president for years. He'd also bring the kids back! Vote bozo number 1.
  20. uhm pay rise for the current employee, plus you still have to pay out Neeld for next year when you will have a new, different coach from outside the club who will be paid more than Neeld plus the costs of the actual hire process.
  21. How are we paying out the coaches contract? How are we paying for a new one who will possibly command a higher wage and higher wages from more established assistants? What is Kennett's ticket, mandate and solutions for our current situation?
  22. They will bring it to ground and just run it out with no pressure if we go that tall.
  23. I don't agree with the skills at training are fine. I went to 4-5 sessions over the preseason and skills were all over the shop. One session they were good the next poor. One set of drills they were fantastic, the next poor. One player would hit a target in a drill the same player would bounce it 4 feet in front the next time he had the ball. Skills need to improve and dramatically and have for a number of years. That has to sit with both coaches and players to improve Saty.
  24. I know I raised this as a possibility in the past but good lord this is how far we have come...... Jeff fing Kennett as Pres..... gaysus.
