How good was it to see Ray Shaw in GWS gear. Haha
-
What a fantastic game, well done Saints. Fk GWS. Said it last week, Stevie J is done and if he is in the GWS side going fwd they are no chance of a flag (famous last words).
-
Calm down LT, we hold our own chances in our hands. Long season.

Chit skills, little footy brain and a fat old man, but far out he works so hard off the pill. Running capacity is second to none, he'd give Jess Trengove a challenge over a marathing course.

How awkward is the Maccas family box ad?!
-
So does our current CEO, was at an event recently and PJ was speaking. He noted the branding change was to do with promoting the name Melbourne as part of the MFC name, it has huge value if and when we start to win but more importantly have sustained success. The mantra is to compete for a flag on or before 2020 and to develop the club for sustain success.

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND SEVEN

Hawthorn is a team you can bring in an under done player and get them match fit for next week... teams have done it with MFC for the last 10 years. -
TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND SEVEN

Drafting a bloke doesn't mean he is a favourite. Thinking he can add value to the team, you know their training habits and they are gettable, over playing them when better options are available then yes. Early doors this season the cupboard has been a little bare so Milky has stayed. Now it is a little more stocked, back to the shelf he goes (sorry the old darl is watching master chef). -
Heard Mahoney speak a couple of weeks ago and the number 1 thing they look for in a draftee is "competitive", are they competitive? How do they react when 5 goals down kicking into the breeze rather than 5 goals up and with it. Long shot but wouldn't it be great if he did ever don the mighty red and blue! PS James Hirds academy... pppffftttt.

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND SEVEN

Not sure he'd be very stiff old ANB, he has played a role and ticked most of the boxes each week. In saying that, as we have seen he is a limited player but can stick to the game plan and do it well, just not enough strings to his bow and think he will remain a fringe player. As with every player I hope he surprises me. -

Spot on, was thinking along the same lines. Looking like a young, formidable team on paper. Looking fwd to the rest of the season if the injury list stablises we could be in for a fun rest of the season. -
I seem to remember Hawkins has had many field days against us, with Dunn in the side as well. Move on Sunshine.

The "Bool sessions"... Toughened a few Dees players right up...
-
Does he give us more of a chance to win games? For mine yes and has all season, even though it has been 1 game this season he clearly does. Outside of that it firmly sits on Peds shoulders for the number of games he has played at the Dees, others have quoted him from a couple of years ago where he was given the same ultimatum as this presason. This year it appears penny and pounds have finally dropped.

The number of times this happened on the weekend by our players did this when it looked like a shepherd would have given the ball carrier room to get a possession away was frustrating. The worst part of it is when the guy who should be laying the shepherd has given a dinky little handball to a flat footed team mate with no space to move then spread away from him. The other one I have noticed over the last couple of seasons from our side is everyone up into a marking or spoiling contest, no one down. No one talking to other to go whilst they stay down. The obvious example was Tmac spoiling a sure Jetta mark but happens often.

How good was Hunt in the first qtr in particular!!! A Dons "mate" and I during the week were talking up the contest between Hunt and Tippa, it was a no contest. Hunt destroyed him in the first and it was glorious to see.
-
Even before the game, during the stages they were leading... Quiet.
-
No mate that got some noise going, drew plenty of groans from both sides.
-
I was amazed at how quiet the place was. Packed to the rafters with Ess flo gs and was dead quiet for most of the game. Front runners.

In your dees jumper

Think 7 picked well at this point. The Darby is terrible.

Great night of sport, the Reds v Tahs blockbuster along with the West Tigers v Sharks and A League SF is on...

No Swallow guys on the field tonight.
