  1. I hear what you are saying Brian, but there's no way in the world I could keep my emotions in check, even if I wanted to. Let it rip Demons!
  2. Agree KoD. You'd applaud that in the men's game.
  3. I'm not the greatest fan of AFLW (as a spectacle), but our team wears red and blue, and that's enough for me! I even found myself yelling at the box this afternoon, and cursing at the umpires on more than one occasion. I must be warming to it! Well done Demons!
  4. Nice article which reinforces Nev's standing as one of my favourite players. Not born with abundant talent, he has reached his present high standing in the competition through high principles, hard work and an unyielding never-say-die, team first attitude. It's great to see him starting to get some of the recognition he deserves in the wider AFL community.
  5. Great prospect imo, and another sign that we now a professional Club, with our eyes firmly fixed on the big picture .
  6. Not living in Melbourne, I don't really understand the Romsey comment, so I can only guess that it has something to do with the community in that part of the world. Anyways, my preferred quote from the article is: "The footy club is in a really good position and I am just loving every minute here, to be honest." I know we've all heard it a dozen or more times, and in reality, what else, could he have said (?), but none-the-less it still warms my red and blue heart a tad. PS Please bring on the Maroochydore camp, so that we will have some real footy news to comment on.
  7. Fabulous pics 666 ...... and it made my day to see JV running, doing a bit of jumping and kicking. Thanks for making my day!
  8. Unless the circumstances are extraordinary, that would barely satisfy me Wise. To demonstrate progress, and eliminate the bitter after-taste of last year, I reckon we need to win at least one.
  9. When I read Blight's comment, the first word that came to mind was 'hypocrisy.' The next two were 'utter' and 'dill'.
  10. I loved it when we reverted to our traditional navy after our 11 year dalliance with royal blue (I remember the advertising slogan 'back in blue' like it was yesterday), and now I love the new clash rig for the nostalgia factor, and the million memories of the late and great Robbie. Anyway, as all AFL traditionalists would know, white was always the domain of the maggots.
  11. Large, high profile international company sponsoring the MFC ....... who would have thunk it? Brilliant work by PJ and his team! Now it's time for the players and Footy Dept. to fulfill their part of the bargain.
  12. Hard to go past O.Mac based on what the coach has had to say. So it's Oscar to have a breakout year on the field, and cause a few around hear to 'break out' in a red rash of embarrassment.
  13. The dawn of a new era ......... at long last! Happy new era Demonlanders. May it last a decade or two.
  14. First, I want to join the chorus of all those wishing fellow Demonlanders a safe and enjoyable festive season, and a prosperous 2018 for our beloved football team. Like many around here, I find it hard to resist the feeling that we are headed for good places in 2018, but I know only too well the bitter disappointments that this team can deliver, year, upon year, upon year. I'm doing my best to temper my excitement with a dash of realism, but it ain't easy! Second, I want to thank the owners and 'managers' of Demonland for taking this wonderful site to new levels in 2017. Outstanding work folks! And a special thanks for the hard yakka and vigillence that has been involved in keeping some of the more difficult recent threads on the straight and narrow. Greatly appreciated! Go Dees!
  15. Thanks rolling! I really hope this works out as you have foreshadowed. We could do with a healthy dose of good news around now.
  16. Love the thinking outside the square DS. I live interstate, so #1 wouldn't work for me, but I love #2. I'd buy up tickets as birthday or Christmas gifts for Demon supporting friends.
  17. I'm with you 100% findee. Some say it's madness, I say it's a sign of strength!
  18. I'd love to be playing Port in the GF. That would be a nice way to put Jack's judgement to the test. I'll back mine over his every day of the week in the very unlikely event that that circumstance should arise.
  19. Maybe a more pertinent question is: "are Melbourne closer to a Flag without Watts?"
  20. We need an "Oh Sh!t" emoticon for moments like these.
  21. As they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words" These are brilliant Six. Thanks from all of us!
  22. I know exactly what you are saying IT, but both Misso and Jack have said on several occasions that Jack's injury would be managed conservatively, and if 'conservative management' means that Jack will be training with the main group early in January, then I'm happy to take it at face value and be thrilled about it. Of course, that doesn't mean that I won't be somewhat nervous about the possibility of the injury recurring , but that's just standard, par for the course, MFCSS kicking in.
  23. A great Christmas present indeed: Viney gives Dees an early Christmas present
