  1. Nev Jetta for me too. I think he will find his niche in the back pocket vacated by Barty, and will become an important part of our defence. Hard, courageous, good hands and strong discipline. Fits the Neeld mould very well imo.
  2. We have dispensed with most (if not all) of those who didn't 'buy in' to the Neeld way, as well as some who were either past their UBD, or were unlikely to ever cut it at the top level. We seem to have gained some forward structure, some mid-field (and other) depth, and (hopefully) a smattering of class. Most importantly, we seem to have added significantly to our stocks of: leadership and experience; and team players who will not die wondering. We are currently in the process of ramping up fitness levels to something much closer to the required level. It bodes well, and I'm chomping at the bit for Sunday, 31 March. I'm sick of eating sh!t sandwiches week- in, week-out ........ salad will make a very pleasant change.
  3. The way this debate has gone, there can be little doubt about that!
  4. Big boys behaving normally perhaps (?), but AFL footballers behaving like silly fools. They'll probably have sore heads this morning, but I expect they'll regret their foolishness more than their headaches.
  5. Broady had taken significant strides forward in his last season, only to have a promising career tragically and abruptly taken away. Life can be horribly unfair sometimes, but the fond memories live on.
  6. I don't share your concerns on this one Ralph, so long as they are all singing the same tune, the words of which go "team, team, team".
  7. Demonland has been sensational through the bleak times (both kept me sane and drove me mad), imagine how good it will be as our stocks begin to rise. Thanks guys for a wonderful forum. All the very best to everyone!
  8. I honestly believe that the Demons are about to embark on the long march back to where they belong, and young Jack will be one of the band leaders. If anyone disagrees, I don't wanna know about it.
  9. On that basis will you accept my cryptic answer at post 509? Athol Webb wore #15 and stingrays made the AW connection after me! (Not a serious question Daisy!) LOL
  10. Clarification of rule # 15 AW please: If I plead guilty to tanking with my first answer, will the Commission allow me to incur a yellow card for entering a second answer, and still be awarded points for the correct answer?
  11. Demonland, the football 'lifeline' for all Melbourne supporters who have the misfortune to live too far from the 'G' to be as actively involved as we would like to be. To all those mentioned in Deevoted's op, sincere thanks, enjoy yourselves during the break and keep well. 2013 will be the start of one hell of a journey for the faithful .... I can't wait for it to begin!
  12. I usually go to the finest print very quickly after I commence a newspaper puzzle
  13. It's a bit of fun and I'm ambivalent about it ........ but I do hope they show a bit more structure and cohesion on the field next year!
  14. This is like a lottery. I'll punt on David Cordner simply because he was part of the dynasty. My vague recollection is that he played a couple of years at u19 s, but this may be wrong. I know he loomed as a potential star at that level.
  15. Even the 'perpetual disbelievers' must see that we are now on a new route, a route that our club hasn't travelled for many years. We are no longer wandering around aimlessly in the 'bulldust'. We know where we are going, and have a damn good idea how to get there. It will be a while before we reach the highway, but we are back on bitumen (2013 will prove that!). We now have hope, and the further along this road we travel, the more lights we will see. The free-way is ahead of us, and if we maintain our focus, and avoid the temptation to take short cuts, it will lead us to the G in September one year soon. When that September comes, we will have Mark Neeld and the team of professionals that support him to thank for setting us on the right track in 2012, and guiding us along the way.
  16. I agree. Let us not derail this interesting and informative thread.
  17. Good to see he is still getting top recognition over there! Thoughts?
  18. Agree. They got 'high' very quickly.
  19. ........................... but to quote Josh's OP : "Who or what are we most looking forward to next year?"
