Thanks Demonland, I always loved 'C'mon Demons'. When they belted it out before a game at the 'G' it really got the heart pumping. Back then of course, we all believed that the next Premiership Cup was just around the corner. Not quite the same emotions watching that clip after all the barren years we have endured. Just lots of nostalgia, mixed with sadness for those champions who are no longer with us.

It's only one game, but if Fitz can resurrect his faltering career as tall defender, full credit to him and the coaching staff who set him down that path. He obviously needs to keep learning and building on that performance, but if he can establish himself as a reliable 'best 22', the flexibility that his inclusion would bring to our line-up would be enormous. Keep it up Fitzy!

Footy is an extremely tough business, but life for some is a bloody side tougher. Danners has excelled at both!

Wow. It's rare that Roosy wields the axe to this extent ....... he clearly won't tolerate what he saw against Freo, and you'd reckon a few others might be on thin ice. Dawes was an automatic inclusion and now is the time for Spence and Toump to prove their credentials for the future. Billy the Kid is being given a taste. The message is there that everyone needs to play out of their skin to retain their spot from week to week. The climate is changing and I love it.

Tommy is fast cementing a spot as the premium tall defender in the game (if he hasn't already done so) ......... and it's a damn long time since any Melbourne player could lay claim to being the best in the business!

Re Jordie's inclusion: wouldn't it be fantastic if (come the final siren on Sunday), most around here are lauding Roosy's genius, while simultaneously pulling the cork on a Bollinger and wiping copious quantities of egg off our faces?

Very surprising imo. One thing seems certain to me, Jordie would be ineffective as sub. so the intention must be for him to lock down on one of their mids (Neale?). Time for you to get in the votes Jordie!

Roh Bail named for Casey, so concussion presumably not the reason he didn't get a senior call-up.

I've held Jonesy in very high regard for a long time now, but he just went up another notch in my estimation. He is a critical part of the 'new' Melbourne culture, and I'm 100% confident that we couldn't be in better hands to lead us forward.

Nah. He never completed a pre-season ....... that's what stood between Col and AFL stardom. Poor bugger!

The worst part of it is that he got away with wasting his talent for years while at Melbourne.

6. N. Jones - started his career as an ok footballer, and has improved year-on-year ever since. Superb game, superb leader. 5. vandenBerg - smart, with an outstanding work ethic and is as hard as nails. He belongs!!! 4. Vince - another top game after practically zero pre-season. 3. Hogan - the football world is starting to take notice. Nothing more needs to be said! 2. Garland - back to the form of a couple of years ago ..... and that's pretty damn good! 1. Jamar - another contract please.

I would strongly prefer that we invest our hard earned in a young 'up and comer' from the likes of GWS or GCS than go for Murphy. Invest for the future, not for the present.

I like tomorrow's team, especially given the forecast weather conditions. JKH as sub, I reckon.

Any indication that they were working on Hogan's run-up TDI? ............ and what about Garlett ...... any set-shot work?
