  1. Dean Cox,

    Born August 1st 1981

Champion who in tandem with the Russian means that we would have the best ruck combination in the league now whilst developing the likes of Gawn, Fitzpatrick, etc. Simultaneously fills our desire for a gorilla forward (when resting) and less chance of us "breaking" the Russian with too heavy a workload.

Why would he come to us? - desire to play finals again during his career (3 year left?)

Why would the Eagles let him go?...their list needs a major overhaul and trading valuable commodities can expedite the process.

  2. Look, I have no idea if the information on Big Footy has any validity but the posters there state that for NAB challenge Week 3...

"Dates to be confirmed - matches to be played at Mt Gambier, Subiaco, Morwell, Visy Park, Narrandera and Casey Fields".

A lot of them are pie supporters hoping to being playing us at Casey Fields

If anyone actually knows the where and when then please clue us up.

edit: NAB Cup Semi Finals & NAB Challenge schedule

  3. Bouquet to the MFC.

Delighted with my little daughter's Little Devil members pack.

Especially the "Throw Rug / Blanket"... and believe me the Little one does like to throw!

Will definately help keep her warm at the G

    Great effort MFC

  4. Hey Guys,

Just wanted to brag I suppose.... went into the ballot to be the elite player sponsor for the draft picks and I received Tom Scully.....

Maybe the function I can get him to attended will be the Forum footy matches

    Congrats and well done Wolfie

  5. I got his name wrong sue me. It was 2 in the morning. I know who he is. He looked pretty ordinary in the last game of the carnival.

Who knows...if this gets out around the club you could become responsible for his nickname becoming Ella.

  6. hmm more like he knew he couldnt handle being no.1 midfielder, quickly edged out of the side by the likes of Scully and Trengove

Collingwood going nowhere fast , good luck there Ball.. you might look OK there though, your ridiculous fixture should get you to another elimination final to be flogged, Ball will look like Michael Jordan lining up next to Thomas and Davis who vanish in September like farts in the wind... pack

Leon was a September wonder...I wonder where he went?

  7.

Yes, well I hope he does...

    Play well, I mean.

Like I said, though, I'm not sure he has it in him.

In what little I've seen he has shown, pace and genuine football nous - including excellent body work for such a young small player. However its early day's and anything could go wrong. No sense in getting too long on the treacle futures market just yet.

  8. By the end of 2011 he will have had 4 seasons at the club and will be 21. I was suggesting that, by then, if he hasn't improved he might be a candidate for delisting. Of course he could improve within 2 years to the point that he cracks back into the side. But from what I've seen of him I'm not sure yet that he will end up good enough to stay on the list.

FWIW, when you were discussing possible 2011 delistings, you put forward Bail. I was simply saying that, come the end of 2011, Maric will need to have improved from where he is at now, else there's a good chance he won't last. Exactly what you've said about Bail.

Trying to work out who will be cut from the list 24 months from now is not exactly a science. I'd love for Maric to stick it up me.

Oooh Titan, love you dearly however, not only do I think he'll stick it up you but do so while you are laying on an ants next covered in treacle!

  9. I agree. Although I think functions like this, there is still a need for such, because I think it's a Mates of Melbourne initiative. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. There is no reason the club could not hold function(s) to suit all supporters alike.

Would somewhere like the Bentleigh Club (Social Club) be holding something as well on this night ?

Last year a function was held at Volvo (sponsor) the Thursday night before the draft on Saturday, which was a Mates of Melbourne initiative - correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes you're right and as for this year's I'm guessing that its a Mates of Melbourne fixture that's getting extended to MFC members as well.

  10. I much prefer the GC17 model. But then again I prefer to base a multimillion dollar organisation on a solid business plan based on proven and sound facts rather than relying on a razzle dazzle publicity stunt such as a promo photo of a fat, over the hill bloke in lycra pyjama's, wearing his undies on the outside.

    It worked for Mr. Incredible!

  11. -um yeah. I agree 100% with what I read on here not long ago for a long time we have had no genuine superstars, just very good players Neitz a gun but lets face it he wasnt an Ablett or a Dunstall for that matter. Same with Flower who despite being amazing couldnt get us in finals

Oh dear! Come on DD, get your facts straight!

  12. Because it's been suggested that Luke Ball would prefer to play at a team like Collingwood with good premiership prospects rather than at the wooden spooner.

In opposition to that it's been pointed out that Collingwood's premiership prospects in the short term are not all that good in view of the fact that the AFL has handed them a tougher fixture than usual for 2010.

A Collingwood supporter has responded by saying that his team's fixture in 2009 which included a return game against only one of the previous year's top four teams was monsterously tough and that they were courageous going into the finals this year with an injury riddled team (i.e. one or two players out of 46 missing).

I think that just about sums it all up.

You forgot to mention that the umpires crucified them!
