  1. Well it's not a terrible decision to keep a coach that made top 4 3 years in a row.
  2. I do wonder sometimes if you all know what you are talking about
  3. Strong words. Sacking him after the straight sets losses would have been harsh.
  4. People didn't watch the game if they thought we didn't try. we did evertything possible to get back into it and if Melk kicked that last one who knows what could have happened. Thought we played really well at times.
  5. What annoys me is the number of people on here that came out of the woodwork a few weeks ago to celebrate Pickett's signing and are nowhere to be seen now. It was their grand final and dont seem to care about where the list is going. They were ready to kill anyone who had something different to their own opinion and some even suggested it was a simple decision. Fairweather and I'm glad they arent in charge. When the new CEO comes in I want to see more considered contract offers. With free agency there is no reason to extend so long as the compo pick could possibly be better than something offered in a trade if their career goes bad. Game changes fast, the list needs to as well.
  6. Insane take. We literally drafted him for his good kicking skill and run
  7. That's rubbish
  8. Why?
  9. Yeah I don't think Malthouse saw it as a promotion It would be pretty stupid to make someone football manager just because of his relationships with players and not whether he can actually do the job. In addition to that, what new coach wants to join a club where the old coach is breathing down your neck.
  10. A lot of people on here are full of it though. Look how many came on here to gloat when Koz signed and now are nowhere to be seen now that we're talking about the reality of our list. It was their premiership for the year. Long term deals give security but in an age of free agency they aren't always worth the outlay. People are afraid that we might lose someone for nothing when the truth is the compo pick might be just as good or better than what you'd get in a trade. The other thing is that they think we'll always be able to get the value of the player at their best. Who honestly saw Oliver's value plummeting when he signed his deal? I'm sure some happy clapper will be ready to launch at anyone suggesting we trade one of these guys, just wait.
  11. It was a stupid idea in the first place and will thin the talent pool. Don't build a house on sand
  12. $12.5 mil over 7 years is big. Doesn't matter which way you slice it. Think it's a great move by the club but not without risk.
  13. You seem to like making yourself look good on here. Few people thought Max was past it and Viney wasn't in our best last week. Reel it in a bit
  14. We've put up with a lot of crap from the umpires
