  1. Lets face it the lights have been off at the Tribunal for years now.
  2. 8 minutes to go. I'm told 40 minutes is the average time for deliberating.
  3. This Tweet Just saw on the news that Brad Green has been sanctioned by the AFL for his twitter comment into this ban! The club has been asked to explain his criticism of the Tribunal on Twitter
  4. General feeling on Tweeter is that we have not done enough to over turn the decision. And a lot of stuff about Shrek.
  5. I think we had to pay $10,000 to appeal which we get back if/when we win.
  6. Surprised to see Harmes not even listed as an emergency. Thought he did ok once he came on.
  7. Can't help but think the Melbourne like the rest of the football world expected this to be thrown out on Tuesday night. They did not go as hard as they should have because of this. A very Melbourne thing to do.
  8. Sooner or later the Hawks will shock a team and play out of their skins, you don't want to be team on the end of that.
  9. But you have to love the defense they put up. Ridley ran into Rioli.
  10. You're not guilty until you go to the Tribunal. I know is sound weird but it's like a speeding ticket. You can accept the ticket or fight it. If you fight it and lose you can appeal.
  11. You get to except a ban or fight in at the Tribunal. " sometimes you get a discount if you except" If you take it to the Tribunal and you lose you can appeal. There are rules around the appeal that you have to meet.
  12. A few folk saying we should just show this
  13. THE MELBOURNE Football Club confirms it will appeal the decision made by the AFL Tribunal, in relation to the striking charge against key forward Jacob van Rooyen. Melbourne will now fight the charge, which was graded as Striking – Careless Conduct, High Contact, High Impact, at the AFL Appeals Board on Thursday night. The club initially contested the sanction on Tuesday night at the AFL Tribunal, arguing that van Rooyen’s sole intention was to spoil the ball, and that the incident was simply a football accident. After deliberation, the AFL Tribunal decided that van Rooyen’s two-match suspension for Striking would be upheld.
  14. Members of the Appeal Board for a hearing cannot be the same members that sat on the matter at the Tribunal.
  15. The club has made it Offical as well. Go Dees.
  16. Just been reported inThe Age that the AFL want a decision by Midday. If they Appeal the AFL will hear it on Thursday night.
  17. Apparently we have until midday to appeal this. So 15 Minute left if that is true.
  18. Reading all the above I get the impression the AFL know a mistake has been made with this report and are looking for a way out. Time will tell.
  19. Never treat a game as a training run. Quickest way to loss a game.
  20. May had a very good game on the weekend, just don't understand the negativity on here. And 17 other clubs would start Fritsch in their forward line this weekend if they could.
  21. It's a replacement home game so no reason not to turn up.
  22. Melbourne Demons @melbournefc · 10m Melbourne will appeal Jacob van Rooyen's two-match sanction.
  23. But a 360 Spin is holding The ball.
  24. Interesting take in the Like/Dislike section of the Hun today. I'm unsure Demon youngster Van Rooyen's spoiling attempt on Gold Coast's Ballard should earn a ban Van Rooyen was offered two matches after it was deemed he was careless and hit Ballard with high impact rather the\an severe. Yes, he has a duty of care to opponents, but if Ballard didnt suffer an injury the spoil would have been deemed high and simply a free kick paid. Van rouen had every right to contest the ball and while it's been said he didnt have eyes for the ball, there is no rule that says your eyes have to be on the ball when contesting it. The fact is, players competing under a high ball like these two did are in the lap of the gods when it comes to injury, Ballard was unlucky. Van Rooyen's action was not malicious. Accidents do happen in footy. That's by Mark Robinson.
  25. Saints have two minute to kick a goal if they want our 2nd spot. And they couldn't do it.
