Calling all pre-season track watchers ...
I'll be farewelling Seattle soon and returning to Melbourne. The track watchers have been grand, it's almost like being there, so thank you all. A big round of applause 👏 (Okay, so during the 2025 pre-season I was actually there but having things confirmed and then during the season having folks reporting what was happening was great.) (Wonders if Pickett Fence will be around?)

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Max speaks on Triple M I guess make of it what you will.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Max did an interview with Triple M and uh, he sounds fond of Clarrie still but he sounded less fond of Trac....

Bailey Humphrey
(Hypothetically.) Didn't we pay for his forearms and hands as well? Do GC get to keep them?

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
I agreed and then I thought about it. What if Maynard came to Melbourne. What would we do then? (Feeling somewhat queasy just thinking about it.)

Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
Just offhand, has anyone mentioned that guerra means war?

Farewell Judd McVee
I'll be back in December, and this time I'm staying. See you (and Kolt and the boys) at pre-season training sometime! And I'll be able to go to games (if my poor heart can stand it - watching the tv has half-killed me at times, dunno how I'll cope with at the ground) and and and...

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Welll.... he is under contract to Geelong until the end of their season. I'm pretty sure a bunch of folks on this forum have accepted jobs at a new place whilst still working for the old place. People would complain if he broke his contract somehow and they complain if he doesn't as well.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
When I think about it, I want a coach who wants to coach us. And it sounds like King wants to coach us, so all is good. Long live the King!

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
My sister can continue to pay up her membership (and that of all her grandkids....). She wasn't going to renew if Buckley was coach. I... have no real opinion. I've been away from Oz way too long.

CASEY: Elimination Final vs Williamstown
Ooh, thanks! Dunno why it was only showing me highlights - too early? But still the grump about the highlights remains.

CASEY: Elimination Final vs Williamstown
Humph. I was hoping to see a replay of the game. Hop over to the AFL site, eventually find the VFL and...it's highlights only. Even better the highlights show nothing of Casey until the third quarter. You'd think Casey didn't kick a goal in the first half. Even after that, they show Willie's goals in preference to ours.

CASEY: Elimination Final vs Williamstown
Dislocated shoulders HURT, as I discovered when a friend fell on me at the end of the Time Warp. Even breathing hurt because it moved my shoulder. Poor Spargod. He won't be able to lift that arm up/outwards for a few days.

Jake Melksham & Tom McDonald Sign On For 2026
Excited! Okay they are "old" (hahahaha, wait til they are pushing 60) for footballers but I thought they might go round again because there was no immediate retirement notice. Tmac is playing better than he has in years. I guess that lisfranc injury takes a solid year or more to get over. (Which might be the case with Fritta too - he had the same didn't he?)

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Uh, more a mission from hell, given we are Demons and all....
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Not only did we have to deal with the devastation of that loss, it then took us over an hour to get out of the car park.... If we'd been two rows over, we would've gotten straight out but we were directed halfway around VFL Park.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
After reading through most of this thread, every time I read "Bucks", I wonder what Gary Buckenara has to do with things.... then I remember that we are talking about someone a bit more recent. 🙄

Simon Goodwin Sacked
Well I've read through all 20 pages of this discussion and I'm still mildly shocked that it happened. Not completely surprised but I thought it would be at the end of the season. Thanks, Goody, for the Premiership and the year or two of believing that my club isn't actually rubbish. I never thought I'd see us win a Grand Final. When I need a pep up, I still go back and watch that last ten minutes of the third quarter. Go Dees.

Umpiring standard
Umpires could probably have a longer career than players - they need mental sharps and physical fitness and these can be maintained much longer since they don't take the battering that players do. At a much lower level - local leagues - my brother in law was umpiring into his 70s until a heart incident brought that to a stop. (He was fine after a stent.)

1964 GF Film discovered
So excited! All the players I read about, well a bunch of the players I've read about, actually running around and playing footy in the 64 GF! I had Mum's scrapbooks (which I gave to the club, they better still have them!) and pored through them, reliving past glories that I'd never seen since I was born after the 12th flag.

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Actually, while I think of it, it's interesting to see the moves that they were doing at training in January and (early) Feb are starting to pull together. Really interesting. And Narrm is winning games! GO NARRM!

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
This is a very good way to start my Sunday in Seattle. I can watch the game in full some time later. So good to see the lads happy - Clarry was going off and Trac is so focused these days. GO DEES!

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
I am loving a pic I saw on a Fox footy post on the Borg. Alas I can't share the pic because I cannot make it smaller than a megabyte without losing a lot of detail. They are clearly happy, a few are enjoying a frothie (as I hear they are called these days, not a coldie) and some either about to shower or just out of the shower. They look like a close bunch.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
I thought I was seeing things when ?Chin? kicked a goal and Kolt runs up to him and puckers up. And then late in the game, another pucker up after a goal. (I now finally have access to Watch AFL after the club and Watch AFL handpassed my lack of access between each other like a hot potato, so I can go watch the rest of the Richmond game at my leisure. And watch for those kisses.)
