How the HELL can Richmond be at better odds the Melbourne??
Also, The Doggies will be better next year. How can we be viewed as the worst club out? Sure Carlton has Judd, but he can only play in one position!
Plenty of teams I can understand being above us even though they deserve to be below us.
But Richmond!!!!!!!!!!!!

do you really think the afl would do that? it doesnt sound like the afl i know...
They are like most other sporting bodies in the world.
Don't have the balls to make the tough calls.
Nothing will happen to WCE, other than the delisting of Cousins.

LOOSE MAN IN DEFENCE.
Been saying it for years now.
It is his calling.
He can be like Brendan Goddard.

What would be the point of dropping Ferguson only to pick up Thurgood?

FB: WHELAN - CARROL - BELL
HB: FRAWLEY - RIVERS - GREENC: BRUCE - MCDONALD - BARTRAM
HF: SYLVIA - NEWTON - BATEFF: DAVEY - NEITZ - ROBERTSONR: WHITE - MCLEAN - JONES
INT: MEESEN - PETTERD - MOLONEY - DUNN
EMER: BODE, P. JOHNSON, WHEATLEY
LEFTOVER: HOLLAND, YZE, C. JOHNSON, BUCKLEY, JAMAR, MILLER, GARLAND, WEETRA, WARNOCK, (DRAFT PICKS/PSD PICK)
Wish list for me re our 22:
1. Picks 4, 14 and 21 (at the least) get an extended run of games in the first team
2. Davey stays in the forward line to crumb. We need him there.
3. Green lose man in defence.
4. Bartram our no.1 tagger.
5. Rivers, Whelan, Robertson, Neitz, etc.. STAY FIT
6. Jones, Mcdonald, Mclean, Bruce, Bartram, Moloney rotate through the centre square.
7. Sylvia and Bate play as roving CHFs with Newton leading out from the middle of the forward 50. Neitz reamins as a target, and Robbo does his thing.
There's more but these immediately spring to mind. -
Bradley, Sampi, Whitnall all a big NO from me.
X. Clarke we could look at. Improve our run out of defence and would be a good player for us, but has a bad injury record. If we can look past the injuries I would be delighted with him.
Otherwise I think we should take the risk on Fergus Watts. Lots of potential and could shine for us in our under-sized forward line. We need to be prepared to take risks.

Last time I looked at a "ladder" of team averages ages there was less than 2 years average between the very top and very bottom.
I reckon the median age is a better stat, but even then it's probably going to be around the 25 mark most of the time. Better yet, numbers on the distribution of ages.
Would be interested in the average age of the best 22 from each team.

is it on youtube?
sam mitchell
luke hodge
Andrew Mcleod hehe
Don't think it's on youtube. IIRC it was a flash video. Wish i knew where to find it. I must have seen it 3 years ago.

I see no problem in us getting Cotchin

221 melbourne games
32 freo games
wikipedia, more accurate then mfc, now thats strange
Thought so. How can someone play 231 games between 1998 and 2006.

Unlucky for us with the Sherman trade.
Anyone seen that video about Fremantle and their trade history and who they've lost out on because of bad recruiting.
Quite humorous.
-
Biggest milestone of the lot must be Jmac's 200th.
Great servant to the club.
-
May be worth a listen
Cheers. Listening now.

My mistake, but we did get Heffernan that year.
However, am I the only one that thinks Daniel Bell is slightly overrated by our supporters? Reminds me a bit of Brent Grgic. High draft pick etc, but never really has set the world on fire.
I do concede he will be better than Grgic though.
There is always room in MFC for someone who is willing to put their body on the line for the club.
Bell is one of the only players we have willing to do that.

Ideally whoever we pick up at no.3 in the PSD will slot straight into our best 22 or at least be young and have the potential to be a future first-teamer.
Otherwise there is really no point using that pick for back-up IMO. Especially ageing back-up.

Although, I totally agree with his delisting, and think it was at least 3 years overdue (i acknowledge he got the best out of himself however), why was he delisted and not offered for trade?
I know he gained some respect in the media and may have been a tagging option for another club.
I thought maybe we could have received something for him (and another player) or at least tried to help him find a new club.
Or dont you think a club would have coughed anything up for him or are happy to wait for the draft?
Geelong traded players instead of delisting them, however let's not kid ourselves. Who in their right mind would have given up even pick 90 for Simon Godfrey.

Says on mfc website that all up Jeff has played 285 games would this be right if so he plays his 300th next year
1995 - 1997: Fremantle - 32 games, 18 goals
1998 - 2006: Melbourne - 231 games, 81 goals
2006 - 2007: Melbourne - 22 games, 7 goals
Is that even possible? (the bold bit)

Great post demondomination.
Sums up my thoughts in a nutshell.
-
Who's going to draw the best tall defender in our forward line?
Newton?
We'd struggle to kick goals without Neita playing at FF. Even if he's not kicking them himself. It's one of the key reasons why we struggled overall this season.
-
Warnock would be my choice.
We may choose to not use our pick 69 instead though.
-
Would love another couple of draft picks. The more the better.
CJ for a third rounder and Miller for a second rounder will do nicely. Although if we can orchestrate a way to get a top 15 pick I would be ecstatic.
-
Depends what the price is...
He's no real improvement on what we've got.
Disagree, however not sure he's worth it.
With Carrol, Rivers and also Frawley and even Bell able to take taller forwards we may not need another tall back.
-
Leuenberger is going to be an absolute gun player.
Agree.

Still waiting for that to happen?..
