I personally will not be renewing my membership this year as a statement (and I have credit with the club to do so) if anyone representing the club speaks at a venue that denies membership based on gender. If this ‘men’s’ club instead denied membership based on race, no one would stand for it. Anyone who stands for denying membership of a club because someone happens to be a woman is anti-women and sexist by definition. This isn’t hard. This is not the equivalent of having a boys night out or whatever some are arguing in this thread. It’s pure sexism, the kind of thing that proves you have systemic discrimination in your club (ahem Collingwood). MFC needs to decide what it stands for. And being okay with straight up discrimination against women ain’t it.
