  1. Weldon Oval in Curl Curl (north of Manly, east of Brookvale) is the Home of the Manly-Warringah Wolves (formerly Giants for a few seasons) Australian Football Club. I played a handful of games for this club around 10 years ago. It is the only full sized Australian Rules Football ground in the Northern Beaches Region of Sydney, from Manly all the way up to Palm Beach which is 23 km to the north of where the Demons are based. Melbourne Football Club should consider training at Weldon Oval if they haven’t already made other arrangements. The only other full size grass AFL grounds in north eastern Sydney I know of are located at Acron Oval in St. Ives. on Sydney’s North Shore, Gore Hill Oval next to Royal North Shore Hospital on the Pacific Highway and Lionel Watts Oval in Frenchs Forest are now both full size synthetic fields for Aussie Rules and/or other sports.
