i reckon 6,000 north fans v 1,000 dees supporters. We were very outnumbered for whatever reason our fanbase has not taken to our womens team. I'm sure Casey is a factor but doesn't explain the extent of the lack of interest not sure what the answer is to generate that interest. maybe its a lack of marketing or promotion by the club? for me, right from season 1, the women all play with heart and endeavour. a few outlier performances but very rare. and the standard has come a long way. Yesterday's game had plenty of skill and had a real finals intensity. i thought it was a great spectacle and advertisement for the womens game. the team give everything and thats all i can ask for as a supporter. compared to what the men have been dishing up its been chalk and cheese that last 2 years (the men were brilliant 21-23 to be fair) anyways, to all dees fans out there, there are worse ways to spend your time that head along to an AFLW game to support this team.

We overachieved this year in my opinion Lions and north experience told in the end when we played them. They are just too good for us. For now. Great experience for a young team to play a prelim. And some great youngsters coming through. We’ll be challenging again next year and hopefully be able to stay the course with the best teams

An A for Essendon. Historically their drafting has been terrible so very gutsy giving them an A

It’s a pity more dees fans aren’t interested in aflw. We have a great team to follow. Plenty of heart. And I had no problems at all with the north fans today. They supported their team throughout and showed up in big numbers.

North over powered us in the end but a valiant effort. To genuinely compete We need more grunt. Heath hanks bullied too much Third quarter misses very costly Great season though. They can hold their heads high

I’ve been critical of zanker before but I think she’s been excellent today. She had 4 defenders around her there and managed to compete and bring the ball to ground

sounds like a great pick-up and great we're adding players with leadership qualities. i think a lot of our undoing over the past couple of seasons is down to lack of leadership as much as anything else

businesses only ever highlight abnormal losses (not abnormal at all as you rightly point out). The additional bump in membership revenues due to our flag were not described as adnormal gains!

They have provided for the liability to clayton so booked the full expense in the P&L. they will pay him through the remainder of the contract which will then reduce the liability on our balance sheet

I'm quietly confident Is it rare a team is rank underdog in a prelim. no expectation means we can play with total freedom and abandon. We need a good start. red hot tackling. make the most of our opportunities. if we can get ahead then North will start to feel the pressure and hopefully buckle. its happened many a time before. the underdog slaying the much more fancied favourite. We can do it. We just got to believe and hopefully with some luck (including with the umps) we can win this. Go dees you good things
