Good result for us. Longer term, Hawks have drafted well and looks like Mitchell is a good coach. They won't be cellar dwellers for long which is a pity cos i really dislike the Hawks and would love to see them languish for decade or more.

Hawks playing very well. doubt they can keep this going for 4 quarters. They have typically tired and fell away in the 3rd quarter of games against good teams this season.
  3. The pies have been playing their high-octane game style for about 18 months or so now which is about how long the competition take to figure out how to combat it. They are also showing signs of tiredness (understandable given the demands of playing their style) and although winning games are not as convincing as they were. They remind me a little of us this time last year, winning games unconvincingly. As we know the wheels came off for us. I think the same will happen to the pies. I’m convinced we’re going to beat them on Monday.
  4. I like long weekends except when i have to wait until Monday for a dees game.

Port are a decent outfit. Definitely in the mix. Butters and Rozee quality mids. JHR will be a beast.

push in the shoulder, push in the back. its a free either way should have been a HTB call against Alir there

push in the back paid. I agree with it but so many aren't paid. no consistency in application

    fast start to this game
  12. Unfortunate Clarry can't play but them's the breaks. We'll just have to go with Plan B. Pies aren't in great form so no reason to think we can't win it without him. Trac will lead the way again just like he did against Carlton. 20 point win coming up. go Dees.

Tough loss for North but they have plenty of talent to work with. They've drafted very well.

    Bombers have woken up unfortunately.
  22. We should look at it as a dress rehearsal for September 30
  23. Confidence growing. Our defensive solidity is returning and some key players missing for them. I think we’ll do it.

I’ll be shouting hard for north today.

You think AFL has a lot of interpretation you should take a look at Rugby Union! Gaelic football referees get lambasted all the time because nobody knows what a legal Gaelic football tackle is. The thing that sets AFL umpiring apart is the number and frequency of dreadful decisions. Interpretation is one thing but how in heaven did the ump think Dockerty deserved a free on Friday night. Everyone around me were scratching their heads. And there are lots of those decisions every weekend. Set aside time, money and resources to help improve the standard. It's a no brainer so why isn't it being done?
