I loved it when we got Jordan Lewis as a free agent - it felt like such a great acqusition, Hibbo, Melksham also great gets too and Maudie / Lever (with draft picks) Go hard or go home.

The formula this week is simple. 4 quarters of relentless pressure. I don’t care in’s and outs, the game against Lions was a shocker and huge knock on my confidence in this years potential. Was it an aberration or a sign of something more sinister? A win is non negotiable. It won’t tell us much given the extent of injuries to the Tigers, but it needs to a comprehensive performance with a minimum 6 goal+ win. A loss is almost incomprehensible but would all but likely end our hopes of a top 2 and put question marks on top 4 chances as well.

It’s a good height for the modern midfielder. What’s he like athletically? Is he quick? agile? Fit as a horse?

No way on earth will WC let Harley go and if they did it’ll only be to a club that give them 3 first rounders and 2of those at the pointy end. He is suring up as the player that may just be one of the greats of all time.

I don’t think he’s part of the problem. He plays the secondary sacrificial role. Problem is that JUH and Naughton play the same style of game. Both are stay at home forwards. Either JUH gets on his bike and plays more in the style of Jezza or he goes.

You can never satisfy everybody. There is always someone that complains. I had to sit in council chambers at Bayside for a planning application that i was submitting and the gentleman before me prepared a 70 page presentation on why (another) planning application from his neighbour should not be approved. I mean 70 pages! These people have no shame, too much time or are just grumpy.

There was another one earlier on in the season. Cannot remember precisely who it was, but a player went to push, made contact with the shoulder/chin of Neale. I remember because Neale made a meal out of the contact, making sure everybody noticed it.

They'll have that hit on L.Neale that got him the face as precedent. The AFL digs themselves holes that they cannot get of. Make the rules simple. Any punch, jumper push, closed fist, open hand...to any part of the body is automatic 1 week minimum. Then you can have grades that can increase the sentence based on severity and potential to cause injury. I am more convinced now than ever, that the AFL deliberately leave in these loop holes to allow for wiggle room to let off certain players/clubs. I mean the entire commission and senior leadership at the AFL are freakin lawyers.

it sounds absurd but: 1. He is a premiership player 2. Proven KP defender (what Adelaide really need) 3. Potential swingman option. 4. KPF potential. 5, He is young. Pick 4 is a minimum in my view.

Either Greene gets off or goes for 4 weeks similar to Wright. Why does the MRO continually put itself in the spotlight?

The kids is blown up like he is super human. Has only played a half dozen. Have seen too many fizzle out or plateau . Granted he looks the goods but given him at least 2 seasons. WC still have some bottoming out to do. Kelly, Yeo, Darling, Cripps, Sheed, McGovern …. They are some big roles to fill.

So the GWS player kicks it to Greene. If there was ever anything as football rights, that was Greenes and Durdin had no right. So the fact that Durdin goes for it and puts himself at risk, Greene is supposed to pull out? Not protect himself? It’s like driving into a round about intersection and some scumbag speeds up from the left intersecting lane and enters the round about just as you do and you end up hitting that vehicle. Technically and by the rule of law you are at fault, but everyone knows it’s BS.

I reckon the next bloke in this position just needs to pit his knee up to protect himself and put the opponent into a 6 month coma. The AFL will then come to its senses and tell players not to put themselves into stupid positions where they are vulnerable - leading with head, going back with the flight etc. If they do then it’s at their own risk. All players need to look out for their safety.

Gotta be a 50m penalty. Half the Carlton team were moving in the protected zone after the siren.
