Trading Oliver would nail shut any possibility of a rebound. Good to see the club knock this on the head.

25 points the vitriol on this site would say it 70. Got so many inexperienced players running around what do people expect. It amazes me why people bother if it upset them that much.

Tholstrup only young but geez how did he drop that

Can we get some comment on the last two minutes of the game. Why are we incapable of pressing forward and manning up. Is this a coaching issue and if so did it ultimately cost us the game.
-
Can’t fault effort but skills wise terrible. Exhibit A Kolt and Biilings no poise at all. The result was predictable other than falling in against Roos we are clueless in a close finish. Surely in last two minutes u go Manon man instead we allowed them to milk the clock.

Free kick penalised us pathetic

When looking at a club it best to look beyond individual win and losses. This year has been a write off for many reason well outlined in this site. It is critical the club use the rest of season with a laser focus on next year. Rest injured players that includes Max. To brave for his own good. The club can rebound next year it has the playing group. Season like this happen particularly when you have been up for years. Look at Tigers. The difference between them and us is they made there time at the top count. Our tragedy is we lost multiple home finals that make our situation this year seem petty in comparison. How MFC to win one premiership that we couldn’t see live. Instead four MCG finals for zippo. If Goodwin is to be assessed it on those losses not what was always was one tough season. Whilst a flag was great nothing compares with our home final wins against Cats & Hawks. Being there with fellow Dees is a highlight to me beyond all others. Just a shame it was book ended by 22/23

Nicks coaching career must be hanging by a thread. Insipid

Effort been there but don’t have the class. Just hurt seeing Hogan put the nail in.
-
Look at GWS forward line acres of space. It is so frustrating.
-
Reward not there for effort just to much bomb it in. Never seem to change

If a bloke of Turners size can’t mark he shouldn’t be in the team. That dropped mark was amateur hour

Let get real where playing a top 4 side on their home ground with our two best players on side line. Hardly a surprising result. Dee’s have fought it out and sucked in King for calling out a 100 point loss.
-
There was no consideration of the tackle he got off on a technicality. AFL disaster. Cameron plays an aggressive brand just like Maynard he knew what he was doing. 3 weeks was overtop but definitely a week
-
The Tigers are so poor the bottom has just fallen out. I guess you win three flags you just suck it up great ride. We have won one but have so much young talent. We might not win the flag but right here right now glad I don’t support Richmond.

Even umpire 22 can’t spoil that

Mackay [censored] his dacks twice

Agree ridiculous
-
Matt Hill commentating what a breath of fresh air. Class act
-
Draper mocked the umpires in Adelaide and got what he deserved. No point spooking when things go sour on you.
-
Agree again simplicity compared to the current dog breakfast.

Perfection sought by the AFL is the enemy of practical. The AFL tinkering of the rules is an attempt to find perfection but in that pursuit they have increased complexity. Rules should where possible be made black and white to take interpretation out. For example out of bounds on full is an 100% unambiguous rule with interpretation limited to hair line decisions next to the line. But the basic principle is it in or out black and white. The closer you get to the contest the more interpretation come into it holding the ball is a classic of that. The higher the level of interpretation the higher the risk and controversy. Why not make holding the ball as black and white as possible. The default decision is if a player is tackled it is HTB. The interpretation is simply in the umpires interpretation did they have prior opportunity. A decision process like that is clear but the the process for the umpire is simple. If you read the current rule there are way to many interpretations this is what causes the confusion. The basic premise of how the rule is designed causes the confusion and ambiguity. Under the scenario proposed there will still be controversy but there will only one interpretation to argue not multiple.

And you’re surprised the AFL is a racket. The different treatment of May and St Braydyn is chalk and cheese. With an ex Collingwood player as MRO the conflict is obvious. May was disgracefully branded a cheat absolute cricket about the thug.
-
God Cornes is a goose TRSF doesn’t even mention Maynard. Compare to last week May was lynched. Then he says Swans are certainties for grand final. Do commentators ever get held accountable for their predictions. Every team has a slump so Sydney could well be ahead of them

With this many variables why would anyone bet on footy. At least with horses you have a pretty clear path of preparation and only one selection which is complicated b 23 individuals all coming off a different plan.
