Traditionally AFL football clubs have not been good in the business of making money.

This does raise the obvious question - How do you replace the gambling revenues coming into the game? Think there is another thread on the site discussing that very question - so maybe a question you don’t have to answer here. If, you can’t anwer that question you have to deal with the situation as it is. Personally, I don’t mind either way - I’m happy to deal with the situation as it is until a better ulternative is put forward. Go Dees

Think many people these days are working hard to ensure we do have the money to fix our own issues. Ultimately, football is just a game in the business of sports entertainment. As much as that may upset people you can’t change what is out of your control.

Well said - not to say I agree or disagree. But, we play games in Canberra, Darwin, Alice Spring etc the PA systems / acoustics at those grounds are not the best. If all MCC and Victorians vote the same way its a no brainer. But sometimes, do we have to give a touch - just so the Demon supporters in every state in Australia get to enjoy the song after the game - because this year I hope it gets played after the game many more times than last year.

Thank-you for your efforts . You have put bucket loads of work into this study - might be something worth sharing with the club. But maybe they might see it anyway. Re your question "Did they have a killer marketing/CRM system?" I cant say too much around here I get mistaken for a Tigers supporters - I only go to there functions for business reasons, and they way they do things is quite different. Think what I like is they really tier the speakers to suit each group. But then again I really enjoyed the MFC luncheon - each to their own. Nah we have supporters in every state around Australia - I’m mindful that sometimes they have the rights to hear the song.

Yeah I get what you say - I have mixed feelings. The song at the end of the game is important to some fans, sadly some grounds don’t have the best PA systems. So no good spending money to fix the PA if the recording is sub-standard and part of the problem. I really don’t mind either way - I’m happy to go with the majority, but I’m mindful of our fans all around Australia that go see games in stadiums apart from the biggies. I can accept the outcome either way.

I like the idea, good for the club, good for the sponsor - and gives the players a sense of how important they are to us10/10 to everyone.
