  1. Gold! Will be using that one ?
  2. Some of the other games are going to get more interesting as the season progresses - just another benefit of some recent success! But no matter what, I’m hoping Collingwood really spend their tickets this weekend ?
  3. Gut running. whether it be +5m to the pack, in support of a team mate with the ball in hand, or switching from defensive zone to press and vice versa, the team-wide commitment to run and run and run has helped immensely. (Plus everything else others have mentioned above)
  4. @Mazer Rackham mate, you are a dead set legend! I pi$$ed myself laughing at this post for ages ??? the best post I’ve read on here for ages! ???

    Bulldogs: (Rested)
  6. Agree, he’s also got a nice fend-off that’s very Dustin Martin. But ANB is also of high endurance as we’ve seen this week, so maybe both could be developed for this role? Personally, I’ve really enjoyed the Dees speed and ability to cut teams apart ā€˜through the middle’ this year. So, I’m not so sold on the need for an outside wing role ?
  7. I’m happy for almost all players being rested at some point given the depth and current lack of injuries. TMAC->Pedo, sure no probs! Spargo->Garlo, why not?! As long as we’re selecting for our opponents, and selecting for a sustainable season, I say do it and let everyone (who have earned it) get a lick of the icecream. ??
  8. Ignoring the miss... yep such a lovely coloured gernsey keep it up Dees!

"Strip or pi$$ all over?" - Mr see ball get ball? - don't get me started.. If Selwood didn't learn how to duck prior to a tackle, he'd be no-where..
  10. Just signed up, yes the adds suck, but this community (despite some characteristics) keeps bringing me back! Go Dees!!!
  11. True, but we could force the market price up with speculation to allow other teams cap-out with a clapped-out sort... ?
  12. Fair call mate, understood your viewpoint
  13. My feeling is that JM is the perfect No.2! The kinda stalwart senior NCO that gets things done, that provides the best advice and is relentless in their commitment. However, I’m not sure that JM has the cut-throat mindset that is required for someone who needs to not only lead, but fiercely compete against their peers in what is a massive multi-million dollar industry. Love the guy to death, but think the CEO should be ruthlessly calculated, fiercely competitive, innovative yet outwardly humble - JM (the loyal legend that he is) is not quite what we’ll need post a successful season.
  14. Thanks Mono, when you think about it: Lever - Omac Jetta - Hibberd Frost - Hunt Vince - Lewis Trac - Brayshaw Oliver - Viney ANB - Bugg Melksham - Harmes Fritsch - Hannan Garlett - Spargo Looks like Gawn needs a partner in crime (Pedo/Smith?) Gets me thinking ?
  15. Thought it was interesting that they showed this on the AFL, whilst a great finish, are they getting on the wagon, or am I just dreaming for relevance?
  16. Yeah the other good thing is the performance of the rest of the team makes it difficult for opponents to determine who to track, Jonesy has thrived on this and slipped through quite a few times!
  17. Straight line not required: at those distances the geodesic looks flat. Most small GPS units these days are accurate to sub-meter accuracy. Having said that, for ovals with high shadows (grandstands) facing the equatorial horizon, they’re prone to dropping in and out of the 4 to 5 satellite signals you need. Lateral movement coupled with a high sampling rate would be averaged out over the course of a game. Warning Nerd Alert: Ultimately, a higher sampling rate over an entire game will govern the overall accuracy. If you have a sample recorded every second, then in 1 hour you have 3600 samples. Statistically that means: {1 - (sqrt (n))/ (n)} = 98.3% confidence in the independently generated data. Trust the technology lads.

Noting that it’s hard to change a team with last weeks performance: Out: Tyson (rest for Adelaide), Vince (rest for Adelaide), ANB (work on his kicking) In: Viney (for Tyson), Bugg (for ANB), Wagner (for Vince) Wagner is in there as he needs blooding, but he has the same aggression as Vince. He’s shown some good stuff so far, it’d be nice to force him to run with someone.
  19. Your views are noted, appreciate the discussion WTM! I guess the context I considered was that they were closely recruited as two players that played together and both had different paths at AFL level. My observation was that despite both being ā€œof the same ilkā€ that they’re markedly different and both shown development in different areas of the game. Most here have highlighted their strengths and weaknesses. At the end of the day, naturally I’m so happy we have them both, but one appears to have a more ā€œmature approachā€ that has demonstrated sustained development whilst the other has a capacity, yet is still stuck in 2nd gear as other observers have noted. With both firing at full strength, with Clarry, Viney the Double-Mac and others in support, we’ll definitely produce noteworthy performances! Go Dees!!!

  21. Ok, so we saw Gus play his best game ever whilst largely watching an average game from Trac. What I saw from Gus: - many second efforts and continuous pressure - beautiful awareness around Gawns taps - calm in the storm when being contested - penetrating and accurate i50’s - a great tank of fuel What I’ve seen from Trac: - unassailable ability to hold ground when contested - aerial superiority - moderate tank Put the last two seasons behind, but I’m getting the sense that Gus is more developed or well-rounded than the Trac.. So glad he’s over the concussions, couldn’t be more happier for the lad after that game!!! Thoughts?
  22. Bl00dy good point Deemania! ..and the not paid frees - mentioned above - are also debilitating. Looking at the chart above makes defeating Collingwood and North all the more satisfying. Whereas, Hawthorn can eat a big bag of [insert offence here]... P.S. Razor Ray can join the Hawks as stated above...
  23. Innovator! No-one could catch him :)
