  1. MCC far from smooth, at one point I was able to order a visitor pass but no reserved seat, then just a reserved seat, then allocation exhausted before rejoining the queue. Ended up in Q36 which has been taken over by the MCC for the night, Reserve will be chcokas.

There should be more transparency around the number of priority 2/3 tickets so priority three ticketholders can make an informed judgement on whether to invest $10 on the possibility of getting tickets.

I guess there's always the chance not everyone will take up their tickets in the higher category for whatever reason. MCC / MFC dual members may already have been successful in the MCC ballot for instance.

Anyone bought a150$ ticket standing room / rear view for a grand final?

The standing room on the olympic wing is primo veiwing - how do they tell you where to stand?

The bays are printed on the ticket just like the  seating bays.

Thank you so much Watts2Hogan and Lucifer's Hero. I have checked Ticketek but the seats available are right up the top on level 4. I really appreciate the advice to keep checking back-it gives me a little ray of hope. Last week I was openly crying in the stands when we won...I guess this week it will be happening from home❤️?

Just tried best available, came up with Q54 row P which is a pretty good view. Only 14 rows back, you'll be surprised when you exit the vomitory how near you are to the front. We were row N last Friday, a few bays around. That said, aim for the Olympic Stand. The very back row is PP to put it in perspective.

Absolutely shattered. Missed out on MCC tix and I joined queue at 11:40 as one DL member recommended doing. Tried to then get 3 tix using MFC membership but couldn't get them as I kept getting the message that that amount was not available. I even tried general admission when it opened-nope. I guess I'll be watching on from home :(

Try again, still category 5, 6 and 7   available.

On twitter Ticketek are saying the queuing starts at the insane time, not before hand.

    Good luck!

Yes, I've got mine already, not physically but on order and picking them up on Wednesday from the Demon Shop.

How does that work? Tickets are on sale Monday and aren't from the Demon Shop. ?

I'm not sure this game actually comes under the anti scalping laws does it?

First time this season the law applies to all finals.

Curious though, there's still tickets available through Ticketek, who'd buy from a reseller?

Would also suggest we won't be getting over 70K for this game.

don't forget there's only about 50,000 tickets available once MCC (which will be heaving) and AFL reserves are taken into account.  Have public sales even started yet?

$76 for Level 4 is an absoluter rip! Has anyone else paid this?

Yes, but we chose to site there. Row K I think, bang on the wing. Much prefer the first third of level 4 to level 1 seating. But that's just me and my mob.

  10. Easily got three tix Q49 12 rows in. I'll be taking a Geelong fan so hopefully he feels like being deep in enemy territory. Not fussed about level 4, usually sit in tridents so prefer being up high to ground level.

Let's not forget MCC reserved seats and visitor passes sold out very quickly, I'm tipping the reserve will be at capacity, crowd should easily be 70,000 plus.

  11. Think you're getting a bit upset over nothing. He talks about his first experience being in the crowd at Linton St as an eight year old watching Trevor Barker, then when he was traded to St Kilda, Barker was one of the coaches.

Being an East Bentleigh boy, he was zoned to us, but like many locals, barracked for St Kilda. In '89, he won the reserve's b and f and best first year player in the seniors.

  12. Been to quite a few games in Geelong but not Saturday's. Have stood on the terrace, GA seats and reserved seats in the new stand. Never seen anything like that trouble, thing is, they were also day games.

Saturday's incident speaks more to our drinking culture (yes, mine included although I tend not to drink at the footy these days) than the need to segregate opposing fans. The fact that Carlton Draught promote how often a keg of Carlton is changed during AFL broadcast displays how ingrained drinking is in Australian life. That video of the Melbourne supporter staggering around, barely coherent is embarrassing, not just as an MFC supporter but an Australian. The video of the Geelong supporter laying the boot in is downright disgusting.

  13. Never realised the Maltby Bypass crossed the state border!

But seriously, these are crap seats ground level in the forward pocket. Much better available on Ticketmaster or buy a general admission ticket and take your chance of the night. There will be Dees fans sprinkled throughout.

The myth that Sam Newman began years ago (and fuelled by similarly misguided folk) that only 200 Dees supporters turned up to a match comes about from this tiny allocation of seats under the scoreboard.

Not sure that some are fully grasping the conceept here. I'll do my best.

Excellent summation of how I, as a Trident member feels. When I realised who the MCC's supervisor in our area was on Tuesday - Glenn - I saw no point complaining to him as his attitude in the past towards MFC supporters is nothing short of pathetic. I've written to the MCC and MFC about his behaviour in the past and received assurances that it would be adressed. I doubt it has been, no point wasting my breath with this man.

This is such a typical negative attitude.

When Anzac Day is on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, there's absolutely no reason we have to be "stuck" playing Essendon the following week.

Seriously, a lot of our supporters are as mentally soft, if not softer, as many of the blokes that get to pull on our jumper.

Seriously, pull ya head in, I'm not being negative nor am I mentally soft. Fact is whilst we play Anzac eve the AFL will fixture us against one of the teams that plays on Anzac Day. The Pies are out given QB, which leaves Essendon. Yes when it falls on a weekend it's a moot point, but when it's coming off a short break we'll play Essendon most likely at Docklands - which isn't a problem in my book.

  16.

Since 2005 we have played 1 home game against Essendon. Why is this? it is absolutely appalling. Another example of the stupid nature of the "Fixture"

At least many of those have been at the G to maximise the attendance through the MCC. I guess now we're stuck playing them after Anzac Day so it's almost certain to be at Etihad with Collingwood v Richmond at the G.
