  1. Time to make some personnel changes that force a game re-think..Simon...hence something like...

    Backend

    Hibberd May lever

    Rivers Thommo Hunt

    Middle

    Gawn Oliver Brayshaw

    Langdon Salem Jordon

    Frontend

    Viney Petty Fritta

    Kossie Petracca Bedford

    Bench

Harmes, Jackson, Spargo, Dunstan (sub ANB)

Outs.. M Brown, Sparrow, B Brown, ANB, Turner(inj)

Ins... May Thommo  Dunstan Rivers Hunt

Improve the clearances, stop bombing into the frontend, more speed with Hunt and Bedford, give Petracca a specific role....

  2. Not sure I want to continue to endorse a club that lets May get away with this sort of stuff.

I thought we were all about selflessness and team above ego... no matter how good  a footballer he is ..this guy is destructive..

I'd be happy to see him play  for Casey till the end of  the year and then he can go to the Filth or the druggies for chips..

  3. Out of the closet...

    Backend

    Hunt Petty (Turner) Lever

    Salem Thommo Hibberd

    Middle

    Brayshaw Jordan Langdon

    Jackson Oliver Viney

    Frontend

    Nibbler Petracca Kossie

    M Brown Gawn Fritsch

    Bench.. Bowey Harmes Spargo Rivers

    In .. Rivers Hibberd

    Out.. B Brown Sparrow

    Sub.. Sparrow

Emerg..  Melky (for smacking May deserves another game) Laurie, Turner (if Petty is out) Bedford, Daw

Rationale is to build our versatility...by

    1. Get the defence set for the second half of  the year (keep Thommo in the team for insurance at both ends or if May is run out of town) get Pig in, keep Rivers warm, keep May sober, keep watch on Turner)

    2. Throw the middle around so its not so predictable, (Gus back to the wing, don't rely on the Oliver-Tractor one two, make Dogga work, get Harmes more involved, keep Jordon and Sparrow learning)

    3. The Achilles heel the front end is where Nibbler Kossie Spargo and Fritta must keep doing their pressure thing Bedford and Laurie could offer something down the track (but Big  Benny  is gone, TMac is gone, Weed is done, and Thommo can't help because May is [censored]) that leaves Gawn the captain (he can use M Brown -on Howe as an ally)  which means Dogga  has to ruck all day and so in order to kick more points then the filth we put the TRACTOR at the  front end....

    4. Keep the faith...

  4. I think it’s a bit of a reality check for those who think it’s going to be anything but a struggle to win more than five games in 2020.

unless Clarry or Trac or Gus or Salem or Weed can become matchwinners it’s looking ominous... even with a better draw...and less injuries.

  5. I’d like to think we can be competitive in every game this year, at least till the fifteen minute mark of every last quarter... after that we will need some match winners to stand up and get us over the line (or save us).. Oliver? Trac? TMac? Max? Gus? Weed? Kossie????

  6. Core= those who while not irreplaceable there is not like for like at Casey, so to have a good competitive season these guys need to play 18+ games each....

Backs...May and  harmes (toughness and run)

Mids Oliver Langdon  (smarts and run and run)

    Forwards...TMac Melksham Petracca ((running targets)

When these guys are out the cracks could open

Would be nice to add Pickett Bennell and Jackson but.....

  7. I remember watching us play the Suns at the (Gabba!) in 2018.. one of the few live matches I’ve seen in the last few years. I had not been an ANB fan but on that day I got to see how Goody used him and what his value/role was... creating stoppages.. all day he was the second or third in and held it up for a ball up in the 50... he wasn’t getting any stats for these but it was damn effective...and we killed them on the scoreboard... as an aside the guy who was bog that day surprised me.. Harmes

  8. I reckon one of the things that our injury toll in 2019 showed up... was our lack of versatility and that is what JT has tried to redress with.. Thommo (Back, fwd, ruck), Langers (wing, hbk ), Brown (kpf, kpd), Bennell (wing, fwd, mid), Jacko (ruck, kpf, mid), Pickett (fwd!), Rivers (hbk, mid) and add these guys who barely got on the park this year... Smith (fwd, def), Vanders (fwd, mid), KK (def, mid) Hannan (fwd, wing), ... depth is in part correlated to flexibility of personnel to cover gaps not just direct swaps..

  9. 42 minutes ago, Ron Burgundy said:

I like that we recruited X factor. We desperately needed some.

We probably didn’t go with the percentage plays (Young and Weightman), but I’m pleased.

Pickett is a human cannonball. I can’t wait to see him in our forward line each week. It’ll be fun to watch.

Put simply, picking Jackson and Pickett has a certain feel good factor to it.

We should all get around it.

I agree RB ... to the point where I might fly to the G just to watch Jacko and Kossie play without being only focussed on whether we can win... these two could become “stars” ... they better get a good number each for kids to put on their back... and rivers can play a role..

and I reckon Taylor gets an A

  10. Seems to me that Goody and JT et al have decided that the ingredient missing from a team of competitive good footballers with the capacity when fit to be around the eight is X factor...these three in the draft fit that ... 3 Jackson, 10 Pickett, 28 Taylor... gambles but added to Thomlinson, Langdon, Brown and Bennell (and perhaps an Irish cat B rookie) gives the team a lot more versatility in 2020... I’m up for it..

  11. Depends entirely on what happens at 3... if we get green with no match from gws ... then split 8 with gc or bris or cats to get a tall ...McAsey or Worrell and a tiny Pickett or weightman...

then rookie Bennell and Murray... to add to Langdon and Thomlinson...not bad haul

if gws match at 3 then jackson at 4 and Kemp or Flanders or Serong at 8 ... and Brent crosswell at 97

  12. The hills in the northern rivers are shrouded in smoke but still the drums beat and the chillums glow... we should bid green at three because he’s next best... a powerhouse mid... I don’t think gws will match but will take Jackson.. they need to build a team not just collect endless high pick mids..young, Stephens, Serong not the upside... Kemp maybe ... if we get green then we swap 8 in order to get Worrell and Pickett at 14-17 or 15-21.... meanwhile back at the turntable I have Miles Davis and John lee hooker trading licks in a denis hopper soundtrack...
