  1. Forget yesterday. Geelong were in unbelievable form and we didn't really want to be there. Our improvement has been good, and I'm pumped for the off season and already looking forward to 2017. We've got lots of talent on our list, we'll add more experience in the form of Melksham and probably Hibberd, and we can get another summer into the legs of our younger players. I'm sure many will hang their hat on yesterday, but I won't be one of them. I'm looking forward to 2017 with plenty of optimism - the alternative makes it a very, very long summer indeed.
  2. No chance am I reading through the sewer that would be this thread. So, seeing as we've all slept on it, please remember this...
  3. I don't think we'll be that lucky. I'm more annoyed at how we're playing because the usual suspects will [censored] and moan about this loss for 6 months. Forget the strides we've made throughout the season, as apparently one poor loss can somehow wipe it all away.
  4. No it hasn't. So the players go in to pre-season going 'we're only as good as our last game?'. They'll go in knowing that they still need to make some serious improvements to push for finals.
  5. Totally disagree. But I can't be bothered arguing it today with you Stuie as I don't have the energy to go round and round and round in circles. Cheers.
  6. It's fair to say we've checked out. It's highly disappointing, but let's take a breath for a second. We are still the youngest side of the round and we've worked hard ALL season. Coming in to the final round with nothing to play for, while the other team is potentially Grand Final bound (which makes me vomit at the thought), and this is what we get. Again, it's disappointing, but let's have some perspective for a second. The one highlight so far is Salem. He's been terrific. Another good pre-season and he will be a seriously good player for us. Hopefully we can break even in the second half, but don't allow a game like this to cloud what has been a successful season for us. You'd be stupid to do it.
  7. Hogan on the lead there, didn't lead with Usain Bolt like speed. Trade him and his 'attitude'.
  8. Yeah, sorry Jaded. It's all his fault. Everything. Just blame it on all him and his 'attitude' that you seem to know all about because you're a trained psychologist. If it makes you feel better then fill your boots.
  9. It's all Hogan's fault though, ET. Everything. The poor midfield, the easy goals, the ease with which the ball is run from half back to half forward. All Jesse's fault...
  10. He was grabbing at it at the end of the quarter, but not sure if it's just a slight twinge or he is done for the day.
  11. Have you watched the game and the delivery forward? I'm starting to think you don't understand football at all.
  12. I did, actually. I was hopeful we could put up more of a fight, but our season is done, while the Cats can get a Top 2 spot. Their effort levels and pressure reflect this. They are working far harder than us. Again, I'm disappointed, but not surprised at all.
  13. We're being beaten by a side pushing for a top 2 spot. If you're surprised by this so far then you're not very bright.
  14. God damn I hate Geelong and their idiot supporters. Sorry, I know that's not a commentary on the game, but I feel better for saying it.
  15. That may be true mate, but I still think he is within his rights to be angry and frustrated. They've drafted these kids and put plenty of time into them, and now they want to up and leave when things get a bit tough. It leaves the Suns looking like a basket case, but still, I understand where he is coming from. Swallow should just get on with playing football.
  16. I'm a little bit bemused by his reaction to the president labeling O'Meara 'disloyal'. I would have thought that, with all the support they've given him, that he was well within his rights to be pretty angry and frustrated by his decision to leave. Regardless, Swallow is another bloke with bucket loads of talent but a body that can't stand up to the rigours of professional footy. If he does choose go, it will either be to North with brother, or back to Perth.
  17. I just want to see us make Geelong earn it. I'd love to see us push them all the way and have their dead beat supporters squirming in their seats. I reckon the side we have in today is pretty close to the side we will field in Round 1 next year, just minus a few. I'm hoping the boys will give everything they can for the bloke who played a large role in saving our club. If I can see that then I'll be happy.
  18. Good to see Picket covering himself in glory as usual. Signing Trengove for one more year is harmless, yet it seems as though it's going to force the club to fold going by his 3 year old style tantrum.
  19. I wouldn't go that far. He would be a handy depth player, but unless he came for free, I don't see him as an upgrade on the depth we currently have.
  20. Roos was looking for draft picks, with the idea being that we were hoping to package a couple of first rounders together to lure Dangerfield to the club. I'm sure we tested the waters with a number of players, and when Richmond showed interest, we bit.
  21. As I said in the Trengove thread on the trading board, this is the right decision. Deserves at least another year to have a fair crack at it. If he makes it, then it's amazing. If not then no harm is done. Plus he continues to bring experience and leadership to the younger guys on the list as well.
  22. This phrase never to be muttered again? Please. I think the club would be making a huge mistake in trading out another first round pick. I don't mind how we did it last year, but to miss out on the first round again is not something we should be doing. Not for Steven Motlop anyway.
