I'm unsure where our talls were positioned but a part of me thinks that is exactly where Gawn would have been, but he was off with a scratch (didn't get sent off with blood rule from memory?)

I do think the club needs to seriously and carefully consider replacing our older slow players with younger veterans from successful clubs, it's tricky, but for all of Lewis' cheap possessions it's becoming a liability. His final chase in the last minute was pathetic, as David King pointed out this morning. Keep him on as an assistant.

No matter what happens, we are hopefully earning valuable lessons. I remember laughing at Richmond last year, how many games did they cough up and choke? Then went on to win a flag. I hope we can learn from these situations. I do think coaching let them down, not two teaming Hawkins all night, no filling the hole (would have cut off delivery), non tagging of Ablett (tagged Danger then he went forward), not flooding the backline. The players played their guts out, I don't blame them for the loss (Petracca and Garlett, JKH).

He didn't actually connect did he? I only saw a brief replay but a fine at worst I'd say.

Effort was there, maybe one change JKH out, unsure who'd come in, maybe Bugg, surely he's better than JKH and been in form. But are his papers stamped? AVB needs more game time, two of his 3 games have only been 3 quarters? Do as you like, he has a long history of being the first to put hands on hips and mope around with head down when the going gets tough plus goes missing at the same time. What you liked of him on Saturday is what we should expect from all our players. Why didn't Jones chase in dying seconds and why was he still in our forward half, wouldn't the kids be more inspired seeing him direct the backline late in a match, instead we had Jetta try and spoil by himself with Spargo and maybe Garlett metres away. As for the team, I'm also proud of them, their "effort" has been there all year apart from one game. We were much better at icing games and under last year than we are this year, why? I don't know.

Sadly I think JKH is too much of a confidence player, similar to Stretch. JKH is too much of a liability for AFL, at his age he should have improved this by now. Replace at EOY. Oscar started the season well, anyone remember the article about him re Gorilla minder? haha. Unfortunately he's gone to crap since but has lost Lever and Hibbo, I'm unsure where OMac is at but I do know we need another experienced KPD. He stays in and on the list going forward though.

I admire his loyalty, I think he's a nice bloke but the sooner we move on from the Jones era the better we will become, the club needs to manage it correctly but the game has quickly caught up with him.
