What ever happened to Ricky Petterd, another who showed flashes of brilliance but no consistency, seems we are a club that this happens to a lot. Must be development not recruiting.....
-
They’re bringing in a backup ruckmen also so keep that in mind as they may rest forward
-
And we have zero elite players, that’s why we’re [censored] and have a team of B grade plodders combined with a coach who’s trying to coach beyond his years and being too cute. Do agree Tigers are beatable and our best is great but who knows what we’ll dish up Q to Q let alone week to week.

In: B. Vince, D. Collis, M. Hannan, J. Garlett, B. Fritsch, J. Wagner, G. Lok, W. Stephenson, T. Bugg, C. MacHaya, C. Spargo Hmmm....
-
Those were the days, when the big fella was on he was unstoppable. Not a bad key defender in his early years either and a top bloke to go with it.
-
We did, we started with no wings for no reason at all
-
Apparently Tom told Sam McLure he was almost ready for Richmond game and should be right to go for Essendon.
-
Tom McDonald to FF was quite good however probably desperate, I still think Tom is needed at CHB, both for his consistency and leadership. Backline looks much better with him there and play Pedo or Weid at FF. B: Jetta, O McDonald, Lever HB: Hunt, T McDonald, Hibberd C: HF:............, Hogan,.............. FF:............, Pedersen/Weideman,...........
-
Totally agree and yes, I think stubbornness is his biggest issue.

" Melbourne constantly bombed the ball to Hawthorn's defence which outnumbered the Demons' forward line, allowing the Hawks' disciplined backline to repel with conviction. Puzzlingly, Melbourne did not attempt to even up the disparity in its forward half and largely kept the same structure until the Demons moved Sam Frost into attack in the final term. That left Jesse Hogan to battle against two or three Hawks defenders. Coaching in his 27th match (his 26th at Melbourne, after a single game at Essendon in 2013), Goodwin would have learned plenty from Hawthorn and master coach Clarkson about picking the right time to make a tactical move from the box." - Dumb coaching from Goodwin

I didn’t see or hear the interview, it was certainly blown out of proportion on the radio earlier, apologies if it was said as a joke, I only heard the radio. -

I cant blame him but keep the thoughts to himself, not publicly state it with such an important line in the sand game coming up, but thats Bernie, pretty dumb. -
Just heard an interview that Bernie said he doesn't want Goodwin to put him on Dusty, must be inspiring to the younger players and very Melbourne like.

DE% Bugg 47% Lewis 36% Vince 46% melksham v Roos 36% just FYI

Thanks for reporting back, interesting week ahead and maybe some statements made.
-
Sounds lacklustre training? However you did only catch the last 15 mins
-
Yes we are at round 4 but every week has seen alarming gaping holes which haven't been fixed since last year. After round 23, do you think its acceptable for these players who are meant to be 'burning' to give up so badly on Sunday?

MFC will not make the 8 in 2018 - Growing a backbone.

Geelong, Richmond and Sydney have/had geneuine talented A graders, you can’t compare us to them. We have a bunch of meat and potato B grade plodders. -
Can Pedersen replace Frost in the backline? Bring in Weideman to FF and play him for a month. Pedo used to play back for north from memory, but left field but I’d give it a go.
-
I just wonder if the players are P'ed off at what Lever is getting paid, would explain the lack of gelling in the backline also.
-
As straight a kick as TMac is up forward I think we need him as an anchor down back permanently and play Weid for game time, he'll never achieve anything playing sloppy, muddy, windy VFL footy. Backline may look something like this: B: Hunt, O McDonald, Jetta HB: Lever, T McDonald, Hibberd HF:............, Hogan,.............. FF:............,Weideman,......... Just my thoughts but Frost is not the answer Agree with what you have said though.

6 OMac 5 Oliver 4 Hogan 3 Gawn 2 Salem 1 Brayshaw
-
Gawn is great, but I doubt he will be the game's No.1 ruckman at his peak
SFebes replied to TGR's topic in Melbourne Demons
I saw what you saw that’s for sure and it happens quite often. Starting to think Max is tall and strong but not very smart at all. A lot of work goes to the opposition and it’s worse when he’s angry so I’m going to blame him for being daft. -
Goodwin has no idea and sooner people wake up and realise the better. Rabbit in the headlights coach like Neeld
