  1. I don't have any expectations at all. After the way we finished, some poor pickups from other clubs and players wanting to leave it's hard to fathom this club has a real winning passion and culture. I deeply appreciate players like Max and Jack and a couple of others but I feel the club was extremely complacent after winning one flag. I guess it happens ...pies were a bust this year. Dogs kinda fell of the map after a cup. It's just so disappointing to see us fall so far from 2021 to now. If we don't make finals next year and tbh I don't see it happening, then I'd be happy to thank Goodwin for all he's done and send him on his way. I feel even now, it wouldn't be too bad to part company. I feel there is a lot of noise and distraction at the club and a fresh coach and enthusiasm would be a positive start to 2025. And a nice big broom to sweep all those who have not performed and don't want to be there. Adios amigos. I want players who are grateful to wear the hallowed red and blue and not moan about this great club. They can all nick off as far as I'm concerned. I guess what I want is a flag...... but I certainly don't want people who don't give everything or complain about playing for us. We may not be able to win a premiership but we can certainly get rid of or bench the players who don't appreciate the privellage of being a part of the best Afl club there ever was. Tx TD and DLs....I fell better now.
  2. A very interesting scenario in betting odds tonight. Despite finishing second on the ladder, well above the Hawks and playing at home with a loud supporter base, Port Adelaide are not favorites to win on any betting site. And despite the Power's victory run in the last 6 home and away games, the Hawks seem very strong contenders with all the bookies. Will they bow out in straight sets like us? How much noise will there be. Losing 2 at home where the advantage is not the same at our Mcg is bigger news. In normal circumstances, it would be hard to resist backing Port but the Hawks ability to rapidly gain momentum and boot bags of five will most likely see them through. Plus I hate the Power as much as Hawthorn but I hate Port's toothless supporters even more. 😀 Enjoy the game. Ps. Sad that we smashed the Hawks earlier in the season and accounted for the Power at Adelaide Oval. Such a hard case to find a team to support in these finals. Probably the Johnny come lately in GWS. Go Giants.
  3. Would have most likely happened by now. I thought he was Tracca 2.0 But he's been around for a while now and as much as he tackles he constantly averages 14 touches a game.
  4. I like the fact most don't have any animosity towards Hogan. Still seems to be much loved by Demonland.
  5. After seeing port thumping most agree Hawks could take port at home. One in top form the other very down despite a great winning streak. But Hawks winning and traveling to Sch......to much travel. I see cats v swans with the swans winning the silverware. And deservingly so.
  6. Ummm......Thanks. I think.
  7. Thanks for answering wwws. Sorry if my post seemed too negative. I guess it was because I believe we are going backwards. I'll admit I'm bouyed by some great young players we've recruited.
  8. Apologies if this has been addressed and answered previously. Where do the Cats play their preliminary final? Much appreciated. And do we feel it's pretty much a certainty given this year's meets and Giants at home that the Orange people will steamroll the other big cats on the Lions? Also I'm not certain that the cats can beat the Giants even if at the cat's home ground. And surprisingly, not confident despite the Swans dominance all year that the Swans can stop Hawthorn. Yes I'm backing Hawthorn to dismiss port after their abysmal first final. AO doesn't seem to give Port that mich advantage. Hawthorn are playing some scintillating footy at the moment. The cats did very well to not only break port's streak but in effect they pulled a proverbial Freo on them like Freo did to us. Ports confidence would be shot and on current form Hawks look dangerous. Especially the way they can just grab hold of a game and change momentum by kicking five in a row and making it appear easy. So if the in form and potent Hawks can delete a confidence depleted port then Hawks v Sydney will be interesting. But of course the travel for Hawks and rest for Sydney will probably be too strong. Although Hawks v Sydney would definitely be an interesting one. It's disappointing to not be in the mix ourselves because we beat the cats, Hawks and only just lost a line ball to the Giants and the lions. Injury really took it's toll upon is at the wrong time of the season. And I thoroughly believe that injury aside if we made the final eight we could be the wildcard like the Hawks. Although our inability to kick 100 points would have probably revealed it's ugly head again. Unfortunately , I've been sort of getting used to finishing top eight and somewhat arrogantly expecting to be there this time of the year. Maybe the players have been even more. And finally ( no pun intended) I don't look fwd to 2025 will a great deal of hope and positivity. I mean our fwd line is still a cacophony of players that provide chameleon performances each week and this was sadly mirrored by our midfield. Firstly from form then injury as well. Now there is a lot of noise about players being disappointed with the club. I know I'm digressing from my original post about home grounds but I feel our club has been infected by a general malaise of some sort that has left us scrambling to keep players at the club. Anb has left for family reasons but it may be something more than that or at least something has helped tip his hand . Gus has gone. Oliver is in doubt. Viney has made murmurings and he's getting somewhat long in the tooth. As are Max, May and Lever. Then we have a collection of players that have been at the club for some very average years or imported from some average clubs. I'm trying to be diplomatic here. Suffice to say if one looks at our 2021 stocks to today's and it's a very disappointing picture painted. I find it both interesting and sad that in 2021 a lot of our marque players were 24 to 25: years in age . That's pretty much in my view the cusp of the prime time of a player @ 26 years of age and the team should have gotten better each year. But sadly 21, without Jackson revealed a deep complacency in the higher ranks to ignore the absolutely plain as day issue with our fwd line. An injury ridden tall department and some form issues with others. And sadly this glearing problem continued into 2023. And here we are ( as mentioned along with other issues) at the end of another season with the same pointy problems. It's not all on the players or injury.....the FD 😔 is responsible for seeing the same problems for 3 years and then leaving it's head in the sand. We are a club that got lazy and complacent. We arrogantly thought that a great backline and midfield was more than enough. It's why Meatloaf was comprehensibly booed when singing at the Mcg ..."two out of three ain't bad," Ditto Boo.
  9. Carlton are cooked. Can't even see the umps saving them tonight. What a shame. Gee we did well almost beating the lions up there without Tracca.
  10. No Curnow then no show
  11. Please keep Carlton scoreless.
  12. Well this is sweet. Go lions.
  13. He had his chances
  14. Has this gone to extra time?
  15. Gws will storm home.
  16. I carry a bottle of it everywhere. Screw em.
  17. Exactly the type of player we need. He's really found his true self and form. Could be the reason the Giants win a cup this year
  18. I remember reading about the author of Goodfellas saying that he got a phone call from Scorcese telling him.." he'd be waiting ages for a book like this" To which the writer replied"he'd be waiting forever for a phone call like this"
  19. That was very good.
  20. And eventually Port.
  21. I have zero hope we will win a flag in 25. I think we won't even make the finals. Our fwd line is still a mess. Our midfield has imploded. Oliver's form all over the place. Tracca and Viney's murmurings about leaving. Injury cloud over Tracca. Anb moved on. It's hard to fathom how much we have fallen in three years. Id like to be positive but it's extremely hard to do so the way we finished this year and all the off field antics Playing for the Mfc is a privilege and a few players need to recognize this. I hope the club is lethal in it's pruning in the next few months. And despite our lack of depth, I hope next year players are relegated to the twos after insipid efforts and not constantly gifted games they don't deserve.
  22. Absolute credit to Jack Viney for flying the flag. I hope he doesn't leave us
  23. I don't reckon that was a three week punishment despite Kozzies record. It was about three weeks as much as Maynard s was a footy act. Kozzie needs to reign his aggression in but first and foremost let's gets some damned consistentency going in the punishment department. It's an absolute joke. The bloke from Port gets a massive term but Maynard last year walks away totally free while Eddy from Cwood dances and sings about justice and Gus has to hang up the boots. Maynards not the reason we finished 14 th. Not many would agree with you there. He certainly was a part of the reason we didn't win that final last year .( But Laurie as sub was on Goody). I do find it very strange and bias that last year after Maynard walked away free that the Afl only started to get tough on players. It's hard to not be cynical and wonder why he escaped retribution and subsequent offenders didn't. Hard not to feel justice wasn't achieved...politics isn't in play and that last year's premiers not only scraped through every final ( including the grand) but it's so called tough guy got a free pass. Tbh I think Maynard walking after knocking Gus out and retiring him while KP gets three weeks for his act absolutely STINKS. And yes the Afl has cracked down since Gus went down and credit for that but it really does highlight how Maynard getting zippo was so very wrong. I find it a real blight upon the game if I'm honest. And while it's difficult to separate one's self from ones bias and passion it's not hard to see that him getting NO suspension at all is just wrong. Our legal system outside the Afl has something called precedent. If the Afl operate under this method with Maynard as the case measure.....it's pretty much a free pass for everyone outside of head butting umpires again. Unless they played for Cwood at one time
  24. How's Maynard's form going after Kozzie. The hypocrisy.
  25. It's a difficult question. I mean I believe there are some issues but I feel airing them and washing our linen in public could make matters worse. The media would love it . An internal one would be best.
