GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs

We will regroup and refocus tonight. Going is as underdogs but will come out victors. We will be back on top of the ladder tonight with only one loss for the season through dodgy umpiring. -

As much as I lok ve Jacksons work in the middle we need him to score goals or Max if moved forward. Lj has been better lately in goals and assists, I just hope he keeps improving. Fritta in a slump but hes a quality player and will return. Kozzie the same. -

Battle for top spot. We are not faves. Adv us. We played poorly last week so hopefully keen to make ammends. No more wins in a row pressure. Im sure we will throw everything as the dogs tonight so I think we are a good chance. No way our backline could get smashed again I hope. Will our forwards score? Tmac and Fritta to lead the way With our smalls to add quite a few. -

I think its too early to write them both off. Bb was better than Tmac Has ever been except for one bad season. Tmac was poor for two seasons and now look at him. As for Sam, hes played only two games this year at top level. He deserves a little more but I think the clock is certainly ticking for him. It all seemed so positive a few backs with these two blokes vying for a spot. One of them will make it. Thank goodness for Tom. But I do recall how many poor games hes had. I think the club wanted to even unload him. And Fritta will break his slump . Kozzie will keep improving. I thought Bb was very good against North and just alright in his 2nd game. His third was poor. But thats only three games for the year with only one bad one. They should not have dropped him. I also believe Sam is more suited to Chf than ff. Both Sam and Tom lead well and are agile but Tom Mac is much stronger and holds his ground better in a marking contest for a ff. Toms follow up efforts in front of goal are better than Sams as well. -

What a rubbish post. -
I think we will play our best footy tmrw and win. Win quite well in fact. It was a tough way to lose last week. We will be fired up. This is our biggest test...we will be fired up. We are the underdogs...we will be fired up. No more games in row focus. No way our great backline has another shocker like that crows game...especially with Salem back. Fritz and Kozzie are too good to be kept down. Tmac likewise and Sam is out to prove his career. We will be fired up. Dees by thirty one points.

I think our forward line will bounce back. Its been scoring well most of the year. Fritta didnt accidently kick six goals a while back. Yea hes been poor lately but he is stiil a star. Tmac has been awesome this year and was off for one game last week so he will fire. Kozzie will bounce back. The only unknown is Sam w. Theres a lot of pressure on him so I think it will get him moving I hope. -
Hate to see shorter games. I think it would take away the advantage of our fitness .

Looking at Jakes stats in this year and lasts there is a big drop in his form to the three years before. He used to be a very handy player but hes just not the same and hasnt been for a while. His goal scoring, marks, tackles and possessions are way down in the last two seasons. If Tmac was still playing like last year , there is no way he would get a game. -

Id prefer Bb. Weid was poor last week but so were most. The game prior he was better than Brown. On the whole I think bbs three games were pretty good except his last. Was dropped too soon. Despite my preference, Im glad the club has not reacted so quickly again and at least given Sam another chance. I do think Tmac is a better ff than Sw and they should swap positions. -

Melksham does not lay a single tackle against the Crows but hey heres another game. Has he got Goodwin's dog? -

Hes certainly not tracking the way most expected. Fifty games is starting to look like enough. At this stage Im leaning towards bb but sw deserves another game or two. Bb was unjustly dropped after three ...they didnt give him a fair run so lets at least give Sam a few more games -

Played one poor game out of only three for the year and was dropped. Very impatient in view. Compare that to Melkshams record and constant selection. -

Agreed. He was good in one game. Average in another and below standard in his third. You should not drop players after one bad game. Having said that the same argument could be used for sam w. He was ok in his first game. But agreed the club was way too hasty in dropping bb and did so in a juggling act. Perhaps sam should have come in first. Three games is alright to make a decision upon but not on the way bb played in all of his. He kicked five goals in two of them. -

Petty has been good but he was well below average against the crows. But then again apart from Lever our defence was a shambles. Not unlike our forward line either. -
Was Tmac played at Chf or ff against the crows? I think if sam is going to play ...tgan Tom goes ff. If bb then Tom at chf. Not sure if ff is Sam ws best position. For his size he seems out muscled too easy. Maybe he needs more strength in his legs and experience.

I think the fact we lost in such a cruel way shoukd give us extra motive to win. Also there would be more media pressure if we were going for another win in a row. Will be tough but I do think last weeks lost helps us in a strange fugazzi kind of way.

Thanks again CHF for another preview. Yes , I could not agree more. Its salt in the wound. I think we all know umpires get conned bt interstate fans and it will certainly happen again. A penalty system...ie suspendion for umps that make such huge clangers would be a real effort to make ammends.

Slow off the Mark; Our First Quarters
leave it to deever replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dont be sorry. You are probably correct. Im just guessing. Of course every team wants to knock the other off but there not all up to it. My theory was teams like north ..hawthorn....freo.. have sprinted out of the blocks ro take a scalp and have done alright for a while. One could argue we havent been slow but tge other teams have been faster. Other than that I guess we are asleep at the wheel. Why? Who could say. Maybe are mids are to blame and just not switched on. Do you have any reaaons why we have started slowly? -

We are or were top dog. Teams are coming out totally fired up to knock us off. We take a while to readjust. -

We had no choice with ben. Tmac was in terrible form for a long time. Sam w still hasnt really fired. And besides bb has only played three games. One of which was pretty good. Too early to call the bb a bad decision.
