Naming storms and the like after people always seems a little odd to me. Do we do it for earthquakes or wars? Even stranger is people who discover diseases and then name it after themselves. What a nice way to be remembered.

All for Maysie being fined as he absolutely staged a hurt head. Not a good thing. I think it was a very poor call by May in that the Afls and umps are trying their best to protect the heads of players and this kind of thing makes it harder. That said I get May trying to do the team thing and milk a free kick . Players have done this since the very first bounce. Now my only hope is for consistency. But there hardly ever is. And while we are fining players, can we please start emptying their pockets for all infringements. Including the ducking of the head for milking frees. Some players at some clubs are so good at it almost seems they have been coached how.

True but last year revealed our deficiency in good forwards so I'm suggesting the list wasn't as great in terms of two flags.

A lot of senior players just turning up and not playing with passion.

Clearly we had a good list in 21 but it obviously wasn't as great as we thought it was.

Given how much we struggled fwd, it's a lot for Jvr.

For the first half it was great to see a connection at chf where someone could take a mark. But that should be the norm. Petty was good but sadly disappeared completely in the second half. An improvement yes but all up not a great game. But none of our fwds stood tall against the worst side in the comp. Especially Fritta who is now also struggling a lot. Our fwd line is way off. Has been for years.Go figure. It's not like it's important. We have the best midfield and backline. Oh wait.

Or has 70 less than the opposition?

A three point win is actually pretty good if one looks at the stats We were beaten in disposals, marks and every other stat that's important. Smashed in the clearances. Even the i50s. We did win the hit outs.

Once again a forward line that falls down again. 11 goals against the bottom side. That includes you too Fritta. And before anyone says it was bombed in, I didn't see too many players leading into space so there's that. So sad to get excited to see Petty marking at half forward and being a connection we so desperately need when that's what he is actually paid to do.
