POSTGAME: Opening Round vs Sydney
Hasn't Jvr only had one year in the team. Not saying you said otherwise ...I think it was deecisive. He was great against Carlton last game. Problem is he gets the biggest and best defender all night. He played poorly tonight . I would like to see him further up the ground as a genuine chf. That's his true spot. I'm not privy to what licence he has to roam. I actually thinks he moves quite well for his size. Im pretty sure it's his only his second season this one so He has plenty of time to become a fifty plus scorer. In fact i think hid progress is tracking nicely. But he can't do it alone and with the other tall being Schache, he effectively is. I hope Fullerton , Bbb or preferably Petty can be in there asap . Let's hope the worry of Petty being injury prone is baseless and he's our other fifty plus contender. Throw in McAdam, Kozzie and a nother goal sneaks....maybe Nibbler ( I had high hopes for Chandler but they have almost gone,)..maybe Worry. Rotate Viney and Tracca through there and we may be ok.

POSTGAME: Opening Round vs Sydney
Well said. I moved to Northern Illawarra,13 years ago ...about a 80 min drive to the Scg. It was about 24 degrees here today ( usually the same as Sydney) but the humidity always makes it feel five to six degrees hotter. Although 900 kms south of Brisbane, Sydneys humidity is pretty similar to it. It makes a hot Summers day in Melbourne relatively cool. Sydney is incredibly humid and will shock those from Melbourne. You can walk down the street in the morning for five mins and need to change your shirt. It would have been a factor. It would account for a slippery ball and fumbles. But it doesn't explain away the fact we kicked poorly and played sloppy. There are way too many players who have dropped on form and quite a few not up to standard. It's one game so we will see next week. Speaking of weather, I'm noticing more and more how much of a barometer Max is. Sadly he played poorly tonight and it's no surprise that when he does, we lose.

I don't think you would get much opposition to this opinion. The problem being is he is really there by default. Played a serviceable one against the Blues in the Praccy game . He's been given an opportunity. He could have welcomed it tonight but didn't. He may get another chance because of other players injured but for me I don't want him selected again. When he plays It basically means we have others injured that should be there instead. I'm surprised we kept him this year. Maybe he was contracted. Wasn't he number two in the 2015 in the national draft? Sheesh.

POSTGAME: Opening Round vs Sydney
To be fair I'm giving them their props tonight Layzie. We deserve to be fried for that lack of effort. I was hoping for so much better than the tripe we served up tonight. It would be fair to drop about ten players from that list tonight. To start with Laurie. Spargo. Chandler. Schache. So many players have lost form.... Lever, Rivers, Langdon, Nibbler. I hope Bowey is ok. Can't afford to lose him. Ironically Grundy smashed Max. I know he's captain. He's better off leading my example than talking. The biggest concern for me is our backs have been against the wall with the media on us and losing Gus. That was our response. I think there is significant reason to be concerned. Kozzie needs an anger management course. Doesn't matter how good he is if he can't play. Goody was so slow to sub Laurie off who he shouldn't have selected in the first place. We have time now to reset but I don't see how we can fix our forward line. That should have been done three years ago but we must keep learning first. Another champion game from Jack. Nice purple patch from Fritta. Oliver not ready.

I'm starting to have doubts about Goody. I'll always be impressed with him getting us a flag. But coaches too lose their appetite and edge. He can be very stubborn at times and make some weird selections. Some of his finals selections last year were bizarre at times. Why did we recruit Grundy .... because we were down a big fwd. Grundy goes and we ignore that fact we don't have a big fwd. Tmac and Bbb played horribly in both our last two years finals but they are still around. So glaring is our fwd line lack of firepower we've not only kept Schache but now he's not the sub anymore. Unless Jvr becomes a star on his second year we better all pray Petty has a big year. Where are our goals going to come from. Why does Chin always get games. Laurie too.? That's on Goody

Oh dear. Are the media right? What has happened to Langdon and Rivers. Lever rusty and loose. Laurie and Schache not up to it. Sparrow just doesn't improve. Spargo shouldn't have been out there. Billings not much from him in just over a quarter. Max talked a big game but didn't deliver at all. Oliver not ready yet. Same learnings ......no fwd line other than a Fritta purple patch. Kozzie let his mates down again being reported. I feel from tonight we will be lucky to make the eight and all our hopes are on Petty not getting injured.

GAMEDAY: Opening Round vs Sydney
Well we have a week to see if the media is right. On tonight's effort, I'm thinking they may be. Probably only six or seven can hold their heads up today. Nothing in the slightest has changed up fwd. How are we going to score this year? Jvr looks like a first gamer. A purple patch from Fritta. It doesn't look positive. We can only hope Petty plays a full season.

Well maybe there's some truth in the narrative. We look awful for most of the night. Olivers not the same yet. Chandler .....when? Spargo...Gone backwards. Schache...I've said enough. Laurie....nup. Sydney have shown what we lack.....players who can mark inside fifty. Sparrow...never seems to go next level. Windsor...first game. Lever...looked rusty. Max....a bad night. Jvr......quiet.
