Ha yeah I bought one for a mate last year and I asked them to send it to me so i could wrap it and give it to him...they sent it straight to him. Oh well, no biggy, would like to hear the end of these things though

It's done by the local newsagents (who I assume have a list handed to them by The Age). The first few I had kept getting nicked, I went in to ask if they could throw the papers further down the drive and he said no worries, and also to pick up a copy of the day's paper. It's a great initiative and will save you money in the long run anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just ask the newsagents

I'm just so happy I no longer go for the supporters whose only comments relating to the club are not "we'll lose on the weekend" or "yeah, it's pretty crap how bad our membership is." There is a sense of pride returning to our club, and I for one couldn't be prouder that it is happening when we are at our lowest ebb on field. This is becomming infectious and in the years to come could be the most crucial part of our membership figures. People now desperately WANT to become part of the club, even those involved feel like they're being listened to more intently by the club. It will probably take a while for this feeling to seep through into the wider community, but it will happen. Having just been in Munich, where they had an ice skating ring set up in the middle of the city perhaps the club could work with NOVA and the Melbourne city council and arrange to have a small ice skating ring put up in Fed square during the week of QB? Great for the kids, and just great fun in general. Could make for a good starting point for the game

Well on the positive side, everyone I met in pubs along my latest adventure are now Melbourne fans too! Though yes, unsure how much of a lasting impact they will have. Very excited about Demon Heartland, very good idea!

Absolutely Monta! I'd much rather do the 3.5 hours round trip to Casey (which is what it took me for the North match) than go to a game at Etihad Stadium, even on TV it looks like a rubbish ground.

We recruited Bail, who is 20, why not Hughes? I've often heard pretty good things about him so you can't be that dissapointed. To claim it's a surprise we didn't get Bentley when Bailey rates him is absurd. If he rated him, we'd have picked him.

I think Valenti has shown enough to prove that he can fulful a role for the club when asked. With his close in ability and courage, he could possibly become a decent midfielder. But given that he is not there yet, and that he isn't going anywhere off our list, it makes little sense to not get an extra player on our list whilst continuing to develop Valenti. A hard worker with great close in skills and a bucketload of courage is a good starting point. I loved him at Sandy and the only problem I have is his scope for improvement. We'll see how he goes next year, but I wouldn't be promoting him at the moment. I like the sound of Rockliff, though I must say I've not seen him play

Lol, it's not an opinion, it's me saying that no one should say things like these photos make him look "impressive," revealing that he is fit and can take a mark, perhaps allowing him to play in the forwardline or on a wing.
