  1. 6. Dunn 5. Jetta 4. N. Jones 3. Watts 2. Grimes 1. McKenzie Frawley was pumped today and was unlucky to miss. After an insipid 1st half it was an amazing effort. Win, lose or draw I just like to see effort which we have done much of the year.
  2. 6. Dunn 5. N. Jones 4. Jetta 3. Pedo 2. Grimes 1. Vince I did not think Gawn played so well. His lack of mobility was telling although I do appreciate he is a ruckman. I would liked to see Howe moved to forward line halfway through 3rd quarter and Frawley down back.
  3. Perhaps instead of "team we love", we sing "Melbourne we love". An extra syllable but it works. Then again, maybe we just stick with the current song. In any case the article says he has ideas but will make sure these ideas work before implementation.
  4. I think Frawley will go back with a more mobile Dunn or Howe to go forward. Roos has been trying to add flexibility to the team and this should be where we see benefit. Their back line is not great and without Frawley down back I cannot see holding both Cloke and White. Dawes in for Toumpas. Riley in for JKH who has a rest.
  5. It was a raffle the last vote for me. Possibly Tyson is also unlucky.
  6. Grass is not always greener on the other side. Just ask Sylvia, Pettard and others. Of course Cheney may argue but he is not a regular at Hawthorn. I have no idea if they will re-sign but as long as the pay is good, the direction is right, there really should be no desire to leave. I would hope they all stay. The most important re-signing is Roos for at least that 3rd year.
  7. 6. D Tyson 5. N. Jones 4. C. Pedersen 3. J. Viney 2. J. Howe 1. J. Watts Apologies to B. Vince who even went into the ruck. Big mistake by the demons but showed the courage of the midfield to battle hard and win the clearance. Apologies also to garland and cross
  8. Agree. Give him 2 weeks knowing if we appeal we may end up with 4 with a serious impact decision. If they gave him 4 straight up there would be no doubt an appeal would follow. Common sense cannot be expected so there is no way Melbourne will take the chance on losing him for 4 weeks. A petition is the only chance but they will say there is nothing they can do unless Melbourne appeal. That said, speaking from the heart we need to appeal and tell them they have killed, no murdered the AFL. It will cost him another two weeks but it will show we as a football club will not roll over anymore.
  9. How do we petition this? I've tweeted already under #freeviney
  10. Watched the game for the 2nd time. Roos is all about standards and I think the first quarter is the standard he wants. Huge amount of pressure on opponents when they're in possession to cause turn-overs, quick movement and good delivery when we have possession. The 2nd and 3rd quarters, it was the Melbourne of last few weeks and the last quarter was about desire and commitment. All players developing amazingly including our whipping boy on here in Watts. Pedo has down so well this year. At the start of the year on SEN, they had a topic on players who if playing means your team is not going to win many games. He was my nomination for Melbourne. I formally apologise to him. Whilst I honestly believe last weeks game against GC was his best, last nights game (other than 2nd 1/4) was very very good. More efforts like yesterday and Roos will want 4 years extension on his contract to see a premiership with a rabble he took on. Perhaps I'm now getting ahead of myself..
  11. 6. Pedersen (sad state of affair when he is our best but truth be told he was great ) 5. M. Jones 4. Dunn 3. T Mac 2. N. Jones 1. Vince Worst players: anyone whose 1st name begins with a J but does not have their surname begin with a V.
  12. 6. Cross 5. Dunn 4. N. Jones 3. Tyson 2. Frawley 1. Byrnes I am beginning to think we cannot play Toumpas, Trengove, M Jones in the same team. AT least not when we also have 2 ruckman and Pederson. We have to be the slowest team in the league and seeing Toumpas and Trengove chase is almost embarrassing. Pederson tries but is just not good enough.
  13. Was stuck n Sydney this weekend so coud not go (probably just as well). With the injuries tonight,mi wonderwhytgey did not ask Watts to play as a forward. I understand he played well as a midfielder.
  14. At best a great midfielder who can augment the work of Viney, Toumpas and Jones. At worst, a cancer on our club who can ruin Viney, Toumpas and Jones. My grandmother always said, an apple does not fall far from the tree so a big No from me too. Cannot take the chance.
  15. No disrespect intended and I know it is not even related to the leaders but Aaron Davey in 12th. Really? How many games was he a sub or did not play. Overall, I think the top 10 is about right. Perhaps Watts and McDonald swap as does Frawley and Dunn. Not an easy year for the supporters but I am sure not an easy year for players also. Hopefully this is the last time I have to say "Maybe Next Year"
  16. Will a $1 million fine kill the club? Can we afford another scandal? Tanking and performance enhancing in a short period of time. Wow. Oh I forget we were fined for not tanking.
  17. Yes please. Also add Junior and Jonathan Brown and my excitement begins to return. Just want a passionate head coach and inspiring assistant coaches
  18. 6. Frawley (give him what he wants to stay) 5. Dawes (shows why we wanted him) 4. N. Jones ( hope he will have the same desire with the new coach) 3. Garland 2. Roxana 1. Rodan ( still not sure why we recruited him) Special mentions to Terlich, Davey and Howe
  19. I am not a big poster on here and rarely respond to these types of threads but I have it on good authority (cannot reveal source) that MN will be sacked on Monday and replaced by an assistant coach likely to be Jade Rawlings. I can understand why we are all polarised as it is a lose-lose situation for us. If we keep him, players and supporters lose hope . Sponsors and players leave the club. Media continue to trash us and supporters fail to show up at games. If we sack him, it shows no loyalty and will scare future coaches. More importantly it will cost us so much money. Players who do support MN and it is obvious there are many ( I remember Colin Garland hugging MN after the Essendon win last year) will be further disenchanted with the club. No matter if what I heard eventuates or not, it is a few more years of pain. Lets just get behind the club and attend every week we can. The club needs us and my 12 yr old loves the club as much as I do although he would like to see us win a few more games. As an aside, the fact I have heard what is going to happen upsets me most of all as it shows poor management at an executive level. Such things must be kept behind closed doors. I will be relieved if I am wrong about Monday. It will mean the board can keep things hush and it is likely to mean a good showing by the players today .
  20. 6. Dunn 5. M Jones 4 Garland 3. Frawley 2. Tapscott 1. N jones Worst on ground honours: McDonald - hopeless with or without ball Trengove - not present Howe - was he playing
