Same penalty as Hall got for his round house punch knocking Staker out cold. Times have changed….for the better. Very lucky Kozzie didn’t get more last year for his rd1 hit on Smith. And as picket and monoccular said above - [censored] me dead how they got it so wrong in September last year.

Not a fan of AFL imposed practice games (if the clubs want to then so be it but not HQ sanctioned), but good to see some dominant footy from the dees and of course no injuries is a blessing. Hopefully the club are ready for next Thursday and we all can move forward after this offseason. Windsor is looking like a jet and will be thrown in the deep end round one. Will be tough for hunter to get back in. Billings does just enough and is a classy player. Would love to see more but just don’t think that is him. But his kicking is a welcome addition. Salem in the guts is a great tweak to the magnets. Let’s hope he can stay fit and can assist the midfielders with his silky skills. A couple of negatives from tonight are fritsch’s kicking (surely he can’t be that bad again) and Tomlinson was exposed by McKay a few times (but the two Carlton forwards are one of the best duos going around). And lastly would be nice to see Oliver in the firsts getting his touch back with his teammates…..but can understand why he isnt there.

It annoys me so much that our players raise their arms to dispose of it and the ball is knocked out and the whistle is immediate. So many filth players get it, look for options, get tackled to ground and then don’t make an attempt even when they’ve had prior opportunity (how subjective?). At least they could try and fake hit the ball at least. The conspiracies come in cause it’s like they just know they won’t be pinged for it.

We were penalized for this early in the year. So annoying the rules for them and the rules for us.

The AFL have this itch that can only be scratched with new rules. Every year they tinker. I hate that they change the rules for the sake of changing them. And I hate that they have them worded to allow for ambiguous decision making. But please take the advantage rule from soccer where there is no whistle and if it doesn’t benefit that team play is then stopped and brought back. In this instance, play would’ve been brought back giving Brisbane a chance of hitting a target inside 50. Before that, on the mcc wing the whistle went but then (I think) Daicos was allowed to play on leaving (I think) McKenna with his hands questioning why play was allowed to continue. Whilst we are on umpire decisions, I can’t believe the umpire stopped the play and paid high against McCarthy for Murphy not getting low enough. It wasn’t a free to Murphy and this is when the ball was loose in the lions f50 with a numerical advantage. Many poor decisions through the day impacted the final result.They say stuff like the ‘four best’ but they are the same muppets from every week when mistakes and inconsistency are ever present.
