GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Gold Coast
TMac to shutdown King and the football world will talk about it… about how King was off today. If Kossie pull together another 3 vote game… most unpredictable game of the round

Dees under fire regarding sensitive and personal information.
Interesting to see how Guerra handles this one… the fact he didn’t fire him at the time raises a question if this is slightly misrepresented. Too late to fire him now.

Make an outlandish prediction for 2026
Dees pioneer the biggest and most meaningful audience engagement shift with players arriving in personal attire. Surprised this was us! I’m a traditionalist but I love this. (Fashion could be improved)

PREGAME: Rd 03 vs Carlton
Sparrow seems destined to break out from the shadows under King but so far remains the invisible man. You’re right that Laurie probably deserves a real shot at this point. As for Latrelle, he’s such a prospect but you’d imagine needs confidence to play to his best. Not sure dropping him will have a positive effect on his development. X Taylor seems more the type that needs systems drilled before throwing him into the defensive end of the field. TMac is way underrated. Rivers isn’t going out, but might want to learn to tackle. Another who isn’t firing under King but should be.

NON-MFC: Round 02
After all the Hype on Darcy I expected him to have a JVR like emergence… is anything the media said in pre-season proving accurate?

Koltyn Tholstrup Re-Signs until 2028
Two things stood out for me with King so far: When Paddy Cross was announced, he said “great that you’re humble, but now go own your place on the list” - I thought that was excellent. And how unapologetic he was that he told the media we were backing our team system against NAS, then post game says he set Kolt for the task weeks ago. Love it all and can’t wait to see how the team evolves under a different type of leader, particularly the young guys

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
I love how Kozzy has evolved and the confidence he shows off field as well as on. I know he supposedly wouldn’t want it, but it’d be awesome to see him as the next captain. He has the charisma of Gawn and the toughness of Viney. Unpredictable and genuine. Side note- think the club handled his personal issues with class. Shut it down and moved on before it was even a conversation.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
Very well summarised actually - and maybe it’s our soulmate given your apt description “debacle”. The rezoning killed the entire opportunity. But I guess hindsight is a wonderful thing. I have no doubt on Caulfield, it’s a good optimisation of use. If I were to guess the real issues is about the harmony of developments, the MRC being extremely diligent on every aspect of the MFC development, down to aesthetics. It’s bound to be a slow process. But will get done.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
I’ve seen Fisherman’s Bend mentioned a few times here... Firstly, the school was a nightmare and has ended up with almost zero open space. And also the area extends into industrial zones that are currently entirely disconnected from any community, which is where I imagine you’re suggesting? I don’t see the appeal whatsoever. Caulfield is far superior and the multipurpose usage is all good planning and will work. They just need to get it done.

KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
I don’t agree at all with this Viney criticism. Who would you replace him with on our list? “Another talented young player” sure, but who do our “talented young players” learn from? Almost all of the young guys mention how important Viney is around the club. I’d sign him up just to be in rehab all year.

Pickett overpaid?!

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Is this wrong because the ball isn’t bounced anymore? Side note, I agree with you. And extra note, I HATE the opening ball up even more than I expected!

NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round
This part of the story I just can’t get straight. From the guy I thought wanted the biggest stage, he went to a club that will send him into obscurity, where even their Brownlow medalist will be a forgotten player. It looked like a pre-season game tonight. I’ll wait for the real thing.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
If you’re seriously asking…. And I surprised nobody has said this, but yes, he speaks very kindly about the Dees. He clearly has real affection for the time he spent with us. We sold him off. He says he understands, takes responsibility, now he’s doing better in Sydney. Players have that experience all the time when the Melbourne afl fishbowl becomes difficult.

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda
NAS is more roaming so seems a task less about defensive positioning and more about blanketing. Someone mentioned Langdon, I think for that reason. But I feel like CJ could add the physical edge.

Jiath? Can he be physical?

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Carlton CEO about Curnow. Interesting how other CEOs talk so bluntly about players moving on. “He made it very, very clear that he didn’t want to be there. From my perspective, I want people to be at the Carlton Football Club with gratitude, and people that just genuinely want to be a part of the Carlton Football Club.” For the record I love Oliver, I hoped he could stay, I wish him the best.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
PR offensive recently on how the amazing Tasmanian stadium is the jewel in the pitch to player agents. Blows my mind that people question if 20-30 y/o top level players want to work in the most desirable and highest quality facilities. It’s a top 3 issue and that certainly includes location. Caulfield will get done. Because it must.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Seems the real takeaway, he’s showing a glass jaw to criticism. The mob senses when it affects a player. Opposition teams will no doubt be testing him too, calling him “the brand” I badly wanted him to stay. Guess I was wrong, bizarrely after losing an elite player it feels like we’ll be better for it.

2026 Pass Mark
Not sure on “pass mark” but vindication would be to finish higher than the Suns. That would be glorious

New Rules For AFL 2026 - All SEVEN of ‘em!
Are we seriously getting rid of the bounce? It’s a unique part of the game and visually epic. Are we seriously going to start a Grand Final with a ball up? The people running the game are truly lost.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
If this is the deal the Suns are landing a steal. This isn’t a win / win, it’s a massive win / lose. If we take it, it says Trac must be toxic.
