Wattsy!! Can he be our matchwinner?
-
Jones, Jones and Vince - seniors of the team - They need to lead the way - where are they?
-
sorry - I read it wrong then.
-
What? Are you saying Gawn is not AFL level? Really!!! The Macs are pretty good today. Righto Dee's you have warmed up now - come out and smash the suns!
-
Gawn prefers a bigger ground - he reckons he needs the space to get speed.
-
Possibly. Although last week I flew from NZ to watch the game at Etihad and I never once felt positive in the lead up, or during the game.

I think we will win, not sure why....
-
I reckon we will win.

The players think they have a chance of winning, they do believe that they can win. They are looking forward to the game. I have this straight from one of the players, and before you say "Of course - that what they say to public", it is a family member who tells me what he really thinks (on the proviso that I don't pass on anything I shouldn't). Also in regards to effort - as much as some supporters think they are not trying - each of them are out there trying. Sometimes it just doesn't click. Those players come off with some wicked bruises and bumps every single week.

They got back to Melb about 3pm yesterday. They were all still feeling exhausted. Sunday was a get over the exhaustion day.

I hope we can get up and win! I'm flying over from NZ to see the game. It will be the first time I have seen Max play live since his Ormond and Sandy dragon days. I'm pretty excited! The biggest thing I have been worried about since I booked my tickets is that Maxy would get injured and not play, hopefully there are no disasters before the weekend!. I feel like we are a good chance of winning.

Imagine if somehow we could win the rest of our games this season!!! I like to dream...

Great thread! I can so so many positives too and you hear it when the team talk - they believe now too. Sure it is taking time (too much for some) but good things come to those who wait. Look at the belief - Max now believes in his body - he can go hard, Watts feels like Roos saved his career, H feels like his best footy is just around the corner etc... I like optimism, it breeds positivity.

I am a glass half full person. At 3/4 time it was within our reach - they had to put in a record breaking tackling effort to take it away from us when we were close. Considering their experience, on their homeground, we did ok. Until the last quarter - that is where our youth and inexperience kicked in. They are now 2nd on the table - is it really that surprising that the took the game away?

What happened to Hoges - all taped up at the end

In NZ here, looking forward to getting home from work just in time for the game to start. Finally the time difference is a benefit. Cut it up Dee's

The definition of supporter is someone who encourages a public person, party, or team. Encouragement is giving someone (or a team) support, confidence and hope. Someone who is negative and tries to bring teams down is called an adversary - or an opponent. Whose side are you on anyway if you are constantly negative?

I'm hoping it's not true - Max was alright Friday Afternoon - I know that for sure.

From the BF board: "viney gawn and jones also carrying illness, but apparently well enough to play. seems like something going through the club. Hopefully we're not flat" That's a bit of a worry!!

I teach primary in NZ

Cheers for your advice! I have had a few rehab complications. Each day things gets a bit easier so I'm sure I'll be right eventually.

It's the same side. Gawn had two Acl's same side - so there is hope. I have huge sympathy for the kid - I am 4 months post ACL reco and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The recovery is long slow and painful (although I don't have physio on tap like professional athletes do).

Essendon are handing this win to Port. A complete different team than we saw last week. Port by a landslide.

I watched the first quarter last night. It was actually a hard fought competitive quarter. Jack Watts clearly tackle a player who releases the ball. Jack actually had a pretty good first quarter. I have been thinking about the whole big head theory thing and it stinks. Also, saying the players are lazy and just not competitive... I know one of the players, have done his whole life and he is a competitive beast, he never gives up so I cannot imagine him deciding he can't be bothered. I think they had planned the style they thought Esd would play, and how the styles Dee's intend to play would counteract that and they were rolled over by a completely different style to what they expected.
